Laying so much as a finger on Obsidian (who delivered like 30% of your first party output over the past generation) or id Software (who released one of the most successful, creative and technologically polished trilogies of the past decade) is straight up vandalism.

I’m so sorry for everyone at id Software affected by these layoffs. I know what it feels like to leave id while id goes on. It’s a strange and painful thing to step away from a place that holds so much of your work, friendships and history. 1/5

If they ended up decimating id Software's tech team then I have no faith in anything they'll ever do again under the current leadership. Between last week and today's news...I just don't know what to say at this point.

Congrats to the whole id Software team and everyone involved with next week's launch of DOOM: The Dark Ages! I've not had a chance to make much fan art lately, but I had to carve out some time to commemorate the occasion.

A digital portrait of Doomguy in his DOOM: The Dark Ages Praetor Suit. His helmet is off and held to his side, while his Shield Saw is held on the other side. A red halo of Sentinel runes and the Slayer's Mark rests behind his head.

Hi! Seems like I picked a busy day to finally join Bluesky. 😅 I'm Xous, illustrator/concept artist. I'll have some new art to share in the future, so in the meantime here are a few pieces of older work. Including a doodle I made a while back that never got to post anywhere before. 😃

An acrylic painting on a 24"x30" canvas, made to celebrate DOOM's 30th anniversary. Doomguy holds a bloody chainsaw in a setting reminiscent of E3M1, standing over a slain Pinky demon. A look of adrenaline-fueled rage and fear is just visible through the visor of his helmet. An Imp in the foreground looks on while a Cacodemon and two Lost Souls approach from the sky. A Baron of Hell emerges from the red mists of the Hell Keep. The ruined Deimos moon base floats far above in the crimson sky.A Galarian Rapidash pridefully galloping through its home, the Glimwood Tangle. A lively leaf-filled breeze flows alongside it as the sun sets in the distance and the stars begin to appear in the dimming sky.A doodle from 2022 depicting a fleshy, spiky figure in a flowing black robe.Completed concepts for an original character, Nil. Tentacles flow from their head like hair and their crimson flesh is covered in sharp, bony armor.
