This is why as an autistic person I will always wholeheartedly support trans people. As well as the obvious horrors, logical inconsistencies and pseudoscience of the transphobes. But ultimately it's the same rhetoric. We're in this together.

This month is the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and it reminds me that the ADA could not be passed today. It probably couldn’t get a vote in committee today.
Just going to say here, I think I've said this before, a 'historically accurate' version of the Odyssey is not possible because the Odyssey does not take place in a historical setting - it takes place in a fantastical pastiche of four centuries, mixed in with gods and monsters.

a lot of people simply do not realize how frequently nearly *any* disability diagnosis means that you are not in fact free to migrate, since a significant number of countries view you as a potential burden that cannot be allowed inside their borders

It's absolutely infuriating that the eugenicists in this administration want to pour tens of millions of dollars into "curing" autism while the research that actually supports disabled people gets gutted. Because they don't want to help the disabled. They want to erase them.
