He/him. Architect. I also take photos and draw stuff. My opinions are my own and do not reflect the institutions I may be a part of.

Why aren't the 2nd Amendment people going out to buy military-grade drones? Isn't their whole thing just buying guns so they can protect themselves against a tyrannical gov't? Their little guns are going to be useless if the government turns its might on the 2A ardents in today's day and age.

What publications do people actually like to read? I often see people dumping on The Atlantic and the NYT and WaPo, does anyone actually like the articles coming from a major publication in 2026?

That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

The Fauci hearing perfectly illustrated how living through a once in a century pandemic somehow made Republicans far worse on public health. God forbid we face anything like covid again during Trump 2.0. There will be no Dr Fauci around to try to talk sense to Trump.

The only conclusion that can be drawn is that the White House press corps knows and accepts both the appearance and reality of its obeisance

“.. he was met with applause from roughly half the room .. before turning toward new #WHCA president Jacqui Heinrich, who smiled .. and embraced the man who had just spent more than an hour assailing the work of those seated before him.” @passantino.bsky.social www.status.news/p/the-white-...

Hey American Airlines, please just let me get home tonight at all. I've been up since 3:30, and the fourth potential flight of the day is now delayed another hour as I watch the terminal from a stationary third flight, stranded on the tarmac.

My takeaway from that speech is that we are headed down the road of Trump trying to outright rig elections. It probably won't work, but he's going for it.

If you are wealthy, I think you should spend more money on clothes. There's no pride in buying clothes for the lowest possible price, as this puts downward pressure on garment worker wages and increases the likelihood of exploitation.

JD Vance tweets: "She bought a $50 dress for $8.75. America: meet your next director of the federal budget!"

He retweeted his wife, who showed that she purchased a $49.99 Old Navy dress for $8.75 after markdowns and coupon codes. On May 27, 2026, the Workers Right Consortium published an article saying: "Haitian Factory Making Old Navy, Hanes Remedies Illegal Firing of Pregnant Workers, Union Leaders

After engagement by the WRC with the brands Gap Inc. (owner of Old Navy) and Gildan (owner of Hanes), 14 women who were unlawfully fired have received remedy. Each of these workers received the equivalent of 22 months’ back wages and a commitment of priority rehiring from The Willbes, a garment factory in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, that supplies the two brands.

As the WRC previously reported, The Willbes carried out a mass layoff in 2024 that resulted in the firing of more than a dozen workers who, at the time of their dismissal, were pregnant or were union leaders. The dismissals occurred in violation of their protected status under Haitian labor law and, by extension, violated each of the buyers’ codes of conduct. The Willbes is a supplier of apparel to Gap for its Old Navy brand and to Hanesbrands, now a subsidiary of the Canadian apparel corporation, Gildan.

The Willbes unlawfully dismissed the pregnant workers and the factory union leaders when it shut down four of its production buildings and laid off more than 900 employees. While some of the workers affected by the layoff were allowed to transfer to jobs in the portion of the factory that remained open, five workers who were pregnant and nine who were leaders of the factory union were illegally denied the opportunity to keep their employment."

As I slide deeper into disillusionment with "the internet" or what's left of the internet, I see more and more people espousing hate or just shredding each other apart because they made a mistake.

The Taco Bell I went to yesterday only had water to *purchase*, not at the fountain, no drinking fountain. The hotel where I'm staying only gives water to "diamond" members, regular guests can only consume water that comes out of the tap. Even the fitness center does not have water to drink.

There’s been a lot of talk in this race about what makes a "real man." A man does what’s right when no one is watching. He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.

as much as i appreciate the democrats responding with vigor for once, the fact that republicans are using "transgender" as a slur for a political candidate is fucking horrifying and dems need to quickly figure out a way to address it head on. calling stephen miller ugly isn't a long-term fix.

Wow guys it's almost like robotaxis like Waymo contribute to the problem of bloated vehicular mass and therefore play a role in ramping up the costs to maintain car infrastructure, which turns into actually entrenching car dependency because a lot of the relevant decision makers can't imagine better

Evidently, Waymo's 5th gen robotics weighs ~1100 lbs per robot. And Waymo doesn't secure their vital docs any better than they test their sw.

photo of the California DMV vehicle registration for a Waymo robot with the OP's comment:

"pulled my waymo’s registration today

the car weighs 5,886 lbs, a stock jaguar i-pace is 4,784

that’s 1,100 lbs of sensors and compute, or 7 passengers’ worth"

just open contempt for the united states as a pluralist and secular democracy. and a reminder that the function of the fiction that the united states was founded as a fundamentalist christian nation is to establish a hierarchy of human worth with white christians at the top

At the Rededicate 250 event on the National Mall today today, the product of a public-private partnership with the federal government to “rededicate America to one nation under God.” Lines to get in are huge.

I, a very high IQ, keep being handed IQ tests, they want me to take so many. I don't need to ask these questions, I know everything, I only answer, "Lion, best, squirrel." They are amazed at my intelligence, I must tell the world.

About to go to the hardware store to test the theory, "the thing you actually need at the hardware store will only be revealed upon your return from the hardware store."
