on a less comic note: if the film press doesn't ever run a single piece about how an original IP with a Black lead that is simultaneously high-concept and incredibly dramatic came about on the tail end of both the writer/director and the lead being shafted by Marvel, I will be quite livid

this trailer dropping just days after Mahershala Ali said he's no longer talking about the legendary fumble of Marvel not making Blade? Feige hadda be sleepless every night after this one if I was Bassam Tariq I would done have billboards up going THIS IS WHAT MARVEL TRIED TO STEAL FROM YOU!!!!

Rather than rage at women clinging to the hope of good men, why are the good men not raging openly about predators in their midst? Shunning them. Calling them out at every opportunity. Not as 'fathers of daughters' but as men. The problem does not lie with women. It lies with turning blind eyes.

Thoughts on the dead singer. Yesterday, my middle aged straight hairy biker son went on one on social media about the dead singer and those eulogising him. He did not hold back. What was unusual was that he took to social media to vent knowing it would attract vile bile. I asked him why.

If you have five minutes today and want to understand how lost and let down our young people are- look up “work experience in UK” and see how many virtual platforms exist. Then look at how much information they want and how much data they share with third parties. No one cares about young people.

Saw The Odyssey. Broadly liked it. I did feel the yen to replay Hades 2.. Also, wouldn't a 1980s style cartoon of The Odyssey be great (something like Mysterious Cities of Gold).

this is such a good and astute way to put it; so much gender critical feminism seems to stem from the belief that being a woman is a uniquely awful thing, and I mean no one's arguing that living in a patriarchal society as a woman is always a riot but what a depressing and pessismistic view of life!

So I think deep down they *have to* assume trans women are acting malignly, because they can’t imagine wanting to be a woman, while there seems to be a tendency see trans men as either failing to understand that it’s normal to be miserable about being a woman - or as traitors letting the side down.

Gonna start a campaign for talking areas in gigs. If you want to talk about your holiday plans through more than one song then you need to go to the talking area and let those of us who actually want to hear the band actually hear the songs!
