Gentle reminder that archaeologists prime feckin role is to speak ill of the dead... Look at the absolute state of that inhumation. What were they thinking? Were they glad to get rid of them or what? They must have been an awful bollox altogether.

In just under a month, you too could be reading Gareth Hanrahan’s The Dungeon Book. Heck, you could even order it from @ravenbooks.bsky.social if you’re so inclined! It’s such a charming story, and a delightful reworking of Kipling’s original. If you’re a fan of fantasy and RPGs, you’ll love it!

I was lucky enough to win an advance copy of @mytholder.bsky.social’s upcoming book The Dungeon Book, and look at the gorgeous prose in it

East the dragon flew. Pine trees on the heights bent under the wind of his passage. The mountains before him, then the mountains beneath him. Swift are the wings of dragons, mighty their claws, fierce their wrath, but greater than all these is their pride. I suspect Nithscalpa would have objected to any description that implied the mountains, however magnificent or perilous, might in any way compete with his glory. So, let us agree the mountains were unremarkable piles of dull rock flecked with snow that in no way blazed like fire in the rosy-gold dawn, and that they remained wholly unremarkable even as he wheeled down towards the tower that stood then and stands now on the edge of a crevasse.
