...we can give ourselves permission to throw them away, rather than staying stuck. 🫶 ❤️‍🩹 Reusing & recycling are important, but the life of one person following this series is more valuable than anything in anyone's donation pile. We all deserve to function. That's all for today! I'm so proud of us!

reminder that if you're having watch parties of that hideous Twilight movie will you please at least do your part and make a donation to the Quileute Tribe, who did not deserve the actual harm inflicted upon them by white people acting all kinds of foolish from start to finish about all of this

I'm also going to make my next charitable donation to the Quileute Tribe for watching this movie that never paid them a cent from the billions the books and movie series made here you can too if you want: Quileute Move to Higher Ground | share.google/BMP2hx7of74G...

And my big carve of the year is DONE. This will be displayed in the window of The Dory Bistro in Pittenweem for the next few days. (I also recommend them, even though they're a fish restaurant and all the fish eaters I know love it, they also do great vegetarian food and the staff are so welcoming.)

I thought this with Dolly Parton as well though, and Tim Curry. what more can any of us hope for, than a long, full life and to be so fondly remembered after we're gone.

most of what you learn in the creative process is achieved during the PROCESS. the process is the point. picking projects that you don't have the skills to finish but will need to figure it out or fail is good, failing is good. it sucks for society that we're abandoning this mindset.

Tonight I start carving an elephant, but expect it to be a 2 day carve. Still sketching out the design, and trying to work out how to make it interesting. (Sorry elephants, sometimes you can look a bit blocky.) For now here's one of my favourite designs and carves. Sometimes simple is better.

Intercountry adoptees are removed from their families, communities, culture, and language, and required to perform, and shoulder the obligations of, natal kinship while too often lacking the corresponding privileges, like citizenship—owing to their adopters’ secrecy and negligence. 🥚

Because this #adoptee did not know the circumstances of her birth until very recently, the US government has charged her with voting illegally. Intercountry adoptees are living on a knife’s edge in this cursed country of ours. apnews.com/article/syra...
