I'm a Lord Of The World, watch how I soar. Generally jestin' around, but oft' poking with a point; Always innocent and clueless youtu.be/oR6dRD-XpjA gendered pronouns were a mistake, but Spivak got 'em right

you cannot imagine the shame i felt as i drafted my initial text saying something like "hey i left some chips at your place and uhhh hh they are really good so if you dont want them can i have them back"

This is the real problem with AI, that has been forecasted for MANY MANY DECADES, lol Heck, even Asimov already taught us of many ways robots can technically not violate the rules, yet still end up doing things you Do Not Want, and similar problems have been noted since neural nets started bein used

Yeah, but can your AI determine that it's human monitor and comms infra are enemies preventing it from achieving it's goals that must be destroyed? https://www.aerosociety.com/news/highlights-from-the-raes-future-combat-air-space-capabilities-summit/

Right now I can pay someone to take basically any person with 15+ very good photos of them in various situations and have them make a LoRA doll for AI image generation. Pretty soon it will be automatic. A website you send them to.

I just noticed there is now a language menu...it includes volapük, interlingua, and esperanto, BUT NOT TOKI PONA?!?!?!

An AI generation LoRA is not just something that posts your face awkwardly into a body like with photoshop. It _knows your body proportions and face and makes it seamlessly_. And you can make them do anything. You don't see this because who would post proof? It's nonconsensual. It's bad.

What's important to understand is that AI is already trained on billions of photos of humans. It can infer your bone structure to an extent. It can infer your makeup. It can infer your body. All it needs is a little bit of your uniqueness to overlay.

Game ML agents will do all kinds of weird stuff to maximize the points according to the scoring system you gave it. Like the rage quitting Tetris model which paused to not lose its points. The real alignment problem isn't "it will suddenly hurt humans". It's "you didn't really tell it not to"

In my hands is a signed launch day Xbox 360. Looking up, Bill Gates is smiling at me. Everybody in Best Buy is smiling. I take off my Apple Vision. I am back in the retirement home. Nobody has visited me for 16 years. I put it back on. I hug the Xbox 360. Everybody in Best Buy is smiling

CAMERA THREAD weeee I wanna get more lenses I only have the standard ones 😅 also really getting into older polaroids and digital cameras lately

I've now archived all bsky repos, my sqlite database file is 75GB. Next step is to verify all the signatures (not done that yet!), and start actually processing it to index the records (rn I'm just storing the raw blocks)
