For most people, the first time they become aware of how bad a problem is is when somebody attempts to start tracking it, which they then interpret as the cause of the problem. To them, the cover-up is preferable to unveiling the crime, so long as the crime doesn't affect them directly.

The first Trump administration stopped sharing the same statistics about drone usage that Obama would share The intent was to hide how much drone usage was escalating under Trump. It worked And ever since, idiots have acted like that meant that drones were only an Obama thing Fucking idiots.

Just dawned on me (I have seen the movie like 50 times) that a fight with a bunch of nihilists who are mad because their fake kidnapping fell apart and are willing to settle for your pocket change might be the most *literally meaningless* fight in movie history.

The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie for exactly this. Dumb shit is going to happen. Some will be good, some will be bad. Some will go away, some will change your life forever. You have to wake up every day and keep living.

They hate black women working in government roles because they consider it cheating for them to work in places where anti-discrimination laws are actually enforced, since it undermines their entire myth of the "lesser races" being genetically incapable of working White Man Jobs.

A new IWPR report confirms that college-educated Black women are more likely to lead in government than in companies. Which is why the DOGE cuts that slashed federal jobs have been particularly devastating for college-educated Black women. #blacksky

It's because they think if they can get Israel officially charged with Committing Genocide it'll retroactively justify the Holocaust and proactively justify a second one, and those who dispute it will never agree with them even if they changed their minds on the issue nominally being discussed.

If the soi-disant pro-Palestine folks were serious about helping Palestine they would be happy to say, "Look, you don't think it's genocide but you do think it's crimes against humanity? And you agree Israel needs to be reined in? You're an ally." Instead, they've made it into a shibboleth.

No, after watching white supremacy return to the mainstream with almost no resistance for a decade, you are not going to make me mourn the execution of Timothy McVeigh.
