I will not accept an argument that art and creativity have been uniquely democratised in the last few years since the invention of genAI. What a disservice to human history. How little regard you must have for the billions of souls that struggled through unimaginable suffering to express themselves.

Another simple addition with a massive impact. Gates have red/green status lights to indicate whether they're opened or closed. Particularly important for the vertical gates. 🚦 (For color-blind players, I'm already brainstorming some additional options) #KatFS #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev
Star Heretic's planet Fungaia is coming along nicely!
i miss games having big ass strategy guides of dubious quality you could buy that shit ruled as a kid i had guides to games i didn't even own just because the art was super cool
A weird little benefit of Google's ongoing enshittification is that I'm visiting more websites again??? When I need a definition/synonyms, instead of googling, I'm now typing a dictionary/thesaurus URL and searching there. When I need a fact, instead of googling, I'm typing the Wikipedia URL first.
Also hey, I'm trying my best to use the socials again. 🫣
007 First Light is an insanely good game, even for someone like me who doesn't often enjoy shooters. Combat feels great, the world design is astonishing, the story is fast-paced and enjoyable, and the whole thing is just unequivocally Bond through and through. Best I've played in a long time.
007: First Light sales hit 3M in less than two weeks
It's officially official: 'Untitled Kinoko game' is now 'Star Heretic'! 💫 Don't worry, our team is still Cult of Galaxy, and Kinoko is still Kinoko. It's the game that got a name, and now that it has one, we can begin thinking about things like our Steam page. More details soon...

The game development process is full of before-and-afters like these. I can't wait to see our game with some proper environment art. 🥺 #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev
More progress in the dungeon. Added buttons for control the water level. (Their design is a placeholder). I think I'm getting better at doing diorama style areas #gamedev #indiegame #gamemaker #crocotile3d
I wasn't happy with the way Hover Mode felt in #NovaSquadron 's city missions, so I made some quick changes that made it feel like a whole other game: - Movement is now camera-relative - R3 to lock on - Right stick switches targets while locked on #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
Development has begun on the starsprites' abilities. Unlike their passive effects, abilities can be cast at any time in exchange for starlight. Use them to navigate the worlds, solve puzzles and defeat enemies! Side note: Game title reveal soon... #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev #screenshotsaturday

So we MIGHT have thought of a title for our game... We're gonna sit on it until at least Monday before doing anything with it, to make sure we both like it before committing to it, but right now we both feel like we're onto something. 👀
Hymble Ventures is a cute & quirky, level-based adventure game where you relive 3D collectathon platformers with a modern twist. - Non-Violent & Progressive Combat - Exploration - Abundant Collectables - Hero Customisation - Charming Characters & Humour - Compelling Narrative
Starsprite Attack (WIP) The red objects represent unleashing their cosmic powers, firing shooting stars at the target. While their individual attacks don't hit hard, having more starsprites in your party can speed up takedowns! (This is specifically for red starsprites)✨
Kinoko has an ability bar now! This lets the player switch between all the abilities of their selected starsprite, with each starsprite type/colour offering a different set.
Working starsprite commands have finally been added to our game! This is so incredibly central to the game, impacting everything from combat, upgrades and puzzles to checkpoints and fast travel and ofc story... I haven't posted much since our first demo, but things are about to get very exciting. 👀

This week I plan on hitting the GDD, but I've managed to sneak in a quick game implementation 😈 Throughout Kalia's journey in #KatFS, she may find vitality and mana shards, which permanently increase her HP/MP cap (with extending bars and everything!) 💠 #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev
