I'm so proud of Yassin. He made Bristol and Britain his home. He has contributed so much as a Green Party Cllr to his city and to the community in Lawrence Hill. Solidarity in the face of this Reform fuelled racist hate. Hope always wins!

Matt Goodwin complaining about Yassun Mohamad - the law mayor of Bristol. Saying that we shouldn't have former refugees running our cities.

Whoever replaces Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street needs to hear the message loud and clear: The UK's democracy is in crisis. A fair, proportional voting system isn't a "nice to have". It's a priority and we need it now.

I don’t quite get Bulgaria’s song but it’s solid Euro pop. Congratulations to them. France deserved more. The UK didn’t. This year’s result will not put to bed any of the tensions and concerns. The EBU has to think hard and fast or the future of #Eurovision is not clear.

The crisis of British democracy has never been more evident than after these local elections. The King's Speech was a missed opportunity to address it. We can't afford another general election under the same broken voting system. We need Proportional Representation now.

Unless we change the voting system, we will see this at the next general election as well. With votes split across five or more parties, power can be won on as little as 25% of the vote. This needs to be a wake-up call.

It never ceases to amaze me how many election pundits don’t understand the dynamics of First Past the Post, and how vote-splitting works under the UK’s electoral system. John Curtice does. Listen to John Curtice.

Gorton & Denton By-Election Result: 🌍 GRN: 40.6% (+27.4) ➡️ RFM: 28.7% (+14.6) 🌹 LAB: 25.4% (-25.4) 🌳 CON: 1.9% (-6.0) 🔶 LDM: 1.8% (-2.0) 🎩 MRP: 0.4% ☑️ ADV: 0.4% 🇪🇺 REU: 0.3% 🗽 LBT: 0.1% 🔴 SDP: 0.1% ⚒️ CLG: 0.1% Green GAIN from Labour. Changes w/ GE2024.

The daft thing is that with Proportional Representation there'd be no need for this self-destructive war within Labour. It could split into its component parts - left and right - and people could vote for what they wanted. It's only First-Past-the-Post that forces these irreconcilables together.

Tim Davie ex BBC Director General is a woke, liberal chai latte drinking socialist who promotes subversive politics. He deserves his sacking! What? He’s a Tory?😳 He was ex chair of Hammersmith & Fulham Conservative Party? Reinstate him NOW! The BBC needs people of his calbre!

First Trump slashed funding for vaccines research now he's peddling dangerous nonsense about paracetamol. The UK should take on Trump’s anti-science agenda and open our doors to US researchers.

News headline from the Mirror reads “UK experts slam paracetamol ‘fearmongering’ from Donald Trump officials,”

Spain’s broadcaster RTVE has confirmed that it will not participate in Eurovision next year if Israel is allowed to take part. This is big. Spain is one of the Big 5 countries that contribute the most financially to the contest.
