The Imagination Library was a gift, a gift that meant anyone could have books delivered to their house, for their kids, for YEARS. Your kids would have books that were THEIRS, in THEIR room, so they would grow up knowing what it was like to live in a house where reading was valued.

I want people to be able to drive a car if they choose to! I also want everyone who doesn't want to own a car or can't afford it to be able to walk, bike, or take high quality public transit with efficiency, safety, and enjoyment, no matter their age, ability, or income status.

Bad news, good news morning :Bad-bike 🚲 home from the Waeg interrupted by anti bike rider yell for no reason but negativity on Jubilee after I crossed the street to Beech after a car let me cross. Good- whoever here recommended fenders was very wise, game changer in light rain #BikeHfx

This this this. Reasonable infrastructure + transit = secret sauce that allows my family to live in the suburbs with one car instead of two. Unless the tax hike is several hundred dollars a month, this isn't even worth discussing. The quoted average increase (~$20) is a RIDICULOUS deal. Tax me!

This is what kills me about all of this: property taxes aren't that big an expense for me at the end of the day and TBH I wouldn't even mind paying more if it meant we could live in a better city. But louder voices are happy to burn it all down just to save a buck

Look, if you had a party scheduled at your house, and the pipes broke and the floor was covered in raw sewage, you’d tell your friends not to come over. In that spirit: world, skip the World Cup until we get this sewage worked out. And don’t be too sure about the Olympics.
