Fresh summer peaches, man. I love my summer farmers market job so much.

I fucked up my planned evening run by not having my headphones charged, and I am not white-knuckling that shit no fucking way, so instead of going for a run I've decided to go full tilt in the other direction and have potato chips for dinner. And beer.
#nfotd The Odyssey Excellent film, it did not feel like three hours, the pacing was perfect. The women were the most affecting, Circe and Clytemnestra specifically. I will say though: for the entire film I kept thinking "OK but what if Odysseus *was* played by Jason Mantzoukas?"
I think I'm having an allergic reaction to peach fuzz (which is all over my hands and in the air from the market). My face is itchy and stings a little.
"WE THE FUCKING JUDGE SON" New York, I love you. I love you so fucking much. Via wali_talks on IG
The biggest impediment to career advancement in the last six years has been that I am constitutionally incapable of making myself small so that mediocre middle-aged guys can feel good about themselves.
"Love ought to consist of deeds more than of words." Today is the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus who died on this date in 1556. Ad maiorem Dei gloriam. #AMDG
Palmer Luckey: Yet another super rich guy who’s such a profound universe-level loser that he spends his time whining about people being mean to him on Bluesky instead of, you know, enjoying owning a yacht
Yes lmaoooo
The difference between Will Stancil and Kat Abughazaleh is that Kat used a bad faith quote tweet dunk on Will to solicit cash donations to her campaign consulting business and Will refuses to let anyone give him money to fix the slashed tires on the car he chased ICE agents around in.
Once again I'll reiterate that the way AIPAC has been transformed into this creeping villain behind every unwanted election result is feeding a resurgence of antisemitism, and that goes triple if the winner is Jewish and was opposed by AIPAC. Please please think about your words here!
The fact that after receiving classified briefings about COVID, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue downplayed the virus to the public and invested in BODY BAGS should have been a bigger a story.
Running out of body bags, using forklifts to transfer corpses into makeshift morgues, a mortician conducting 200 funerals in a month when he usually does 30, crematories running at double capacity… And these senators just want to memory-hole it all www.nytimes.com/2020/04/30/n...
So...all games will be rigged from now on? Yes?
The New York Mets are making the startup Novig their official prediction-market partner, marking a first for Major League Baseball as the prediction-markets industry looks for a foothold in professional sports. on.wsj.com/4wqyNJO
anyway as I frequently note, there was a very predictable and unsurprising cover-up - of the wet market where all available data shows likely first transmission from animals to humans, a market that was *supposed to not exist* under post-SARS laws and was owned by a uber-wealthy/connected family.
👇 "The vast majority of people who work in film and television are not studio executives, nor are they famous actors. They are, overwhelmingly, blue-collar workers, freelancers, and small businesses. And they are in free fall." Yes.
People think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall. My latest for @newrepublic.com on how the Paramount merger would crush blue collar workers who can not afford it newrepublic.com/article/2136...
Third (there are 6 of these) wives are socialized to wash all the parts... they send that soap water and towel down through scylla and charybdis Husbands leave something to be desired in terms of hygiene
at one point in history husbands were so bad they took all the household money and became stumbling alcoholics and the wives had to organize and outlaw all the booze in AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!
Finally NYC Bodega Discourse arrives on BlueSky. And it’s not even Friday.
in the UK, you will very frequently find that cornerstores* buy up product from supermarkets, break them down, and sell them individually, and the margin is not even that large. *New Yorkers, other places have these too, you're not special
As someone who had a tiny taste of this when they thought I was his alt, I think you really can’t understand the cruelty and singularity of the Stancil Hate Mob unless it’s pointed at you. The rest of us just get to post. He doesn’t.
will, please stop. enough already. i'm tired of seeing you yelling at people and frankly tired of seeing people yelling at you. there has to be a better way to live, man. this isn't good for anyone.
It is pretty clear to me that if Stancil had proposed the idea “the mayor should open a store and sell food to poor people” these exact same people would be denouncing him as a neoliberal ghoul
Man this is awful. This was a sincere question. I was happy with the discussion that came out of it. But I wake up this morning to nonstop abuse, because one of Bluesky’s cult-like figures has (pretty unfairly) attacked me as not understanding people need food. This isn’t good or sustainable!
