I write quirky books about angels, smart women, and angels dealing with smart women. Check them out! https://bookshop.org/shop/Philangelus

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

A string rosary came apart, so I decided to teach myself to use flex wire. I used an old centerpiece and used seed beads for spacers, and I think it came pretty nice. It's Tabris-colored, too, but I didn't realize until it was done.

A rosary with green seed beads beneath the wooden beads.

I went to the fish restaurant with the big picture of the fish on the kiosk. I read the menu, which had ten different kinds of fish. I ordered the Big Fish Sampler Platter. And to my shock, they brought me fish! I hate fish! I had to sit there eating yucky fish! This is somehow not my fault.

Ben Shapiro: “When the president said deport all the illegal immigrants, I never thought that he meant that literally”

In terms of religious arguments, this one is kind of funny. They asked me to lector at the Wednesday daily Masses. Okay, but you have to prepare if you want to do it well. And if there are optional readings, that's not decided until 5 minutes before Mass. So I have to prepare them both. *sigh*

The existence of this bubble -- a place where marginalized populations could go to feel safe & accepted & joyful -- drove the wider patriarchal culture *insane*, so they attacked it & attacked it, made it a joke, dismissed it, marginalized it, killed it.

I understand why we shut down American airspace for a few days after 9-11 to avoid a repeat attack but imagine shutting down American airspace to avoid releasing the Epstein files.

Trump's lawyers are in the Supreme Court right now establishing that, among other things, a future Dem president can declare a climate emergency and tariff the fuck out of whatever he wants.

I can't wait for whatever unhinged posting Trump is going to do after the humiliation of tonight's votes. If we're lucky, it'll only be unhinged posting. Although who knows, maybe it'll be like after No Kings and he'll knock down the West Wing, too.

I think a thing we'll learn tonight is that people fucking hate what is going on and they will straight ticket vote against anyone involved in starving people while pillaging the country and kidnapping their neighbors. I don't think it matters at all who that person is.

We should implement a legal Rule of Cool where if you commit a crime in a super cool way and *nobody gets physically hurt,* you get total immunity. This will incentivize criminals towards showmanship and avoiding casualties. This is a really good idea.

The range increments of a full subway sandwich are only 10/20 so you have disadvantage on your throw more than a few paces away. You can double the range with a half-sandwich wrapped tightly and druis have a fifth-level subclass feature that removes disadvantage if the sandwich has sprouts

It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.
