Mike Johnson is an EVANGELICAL. Evangelicals think it's a sin for a man to NOT be violent with his wife and kids. There are entire books written by Evangelical pastors about how to hit children without leaving marks so you don't get arrested. OF COURSE he supports Max Miller.

As @kevinmkruse.bsky.social noted, this was the cover of the pro-free-market, not-progressive Economist one month before the election that brought Trump back to power. The economy had problems, hence the result, but a “total catastrophe” it was not.

I can’t even find many Republicans who are still backing Max Miller after yesterday. Except the moral paragons Donald Trump, Mike Johnson and the Republican leadership of the House.

Lisa Needham@snipy.bsky.social · yesterdayhonestly can't stress enough, as a former family law attorney, how depressingly common Max Miller's behavior and words are, right down to the petty fixation on custody procedure and rules when faced with allegations of shocking violence.
This is why this is not just about Max Miller. It’s about “devout Christian” House Republican leadership who is standing with this guy because they crave power above all else. It’s the culture of MAGA and it comes straight from Trump. Vote them out.
