Sam has created something magical with Dice Exploder- it was the impetus for my passion for games blossoming. I'm so thankful for all the work he's put in. I'm stoked to carry the show forward! Great season coming up, and I'm thrilled to show you all what I have brewing for the future of the show

Dice Exploder is back next week, and it's gonna be my last season (at least for now). One more ride, it's been a great time.

game where you pick a city street in a video game with doors you can't open and come up with what's behind them and the people who live and shop and work there

sorry bluesky, I almost forgot to tell you about today's foolish & fanciful game night at the Epochal Imp in Toronto! 😁 couldn't find the time this week to prep A Fool's Errand, but The Wolf King's Son and Rusalka are both on theme and very tricksy indeed... the next edition will be on April 15th!

i want every ttrpg designer to write at least one recipe (including the personal essay at the beginning. it's important. think about why it's important.)

re: "Parks are for families" - Chow makes it clear who is and isn't granted personhood in the eyes of the state. Dufferin Grove is a huge park that's continued to be used for all sorts of shit throughout this encampment's life. these policies boil down to the City not wanting homeless people visible

About today's public transit discourse: I believe that riding public transit is a spiritual good for increasing your empathy and practicing minding your own business. It also helps you internalize that most people mind their own business, e.g. no one is looking at you.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

As I've been saying over and over on our book tour for The AI Con, the inevitability argument (including in the form of "AI is here to stay") is an attempt to steal our agency. We don't have to accept that and I encourage everyone to refuse it.

The way nobody can drive well anymore because of GPS — not just atrophied turn-by-turn navigation, but the way ppl no longer know the layouts of their town or the names of roads or what to do when the map doesn’t match the terrain — that’s what genAI is doing to communication skills and literacy

If all porn is made illegal, you can also make illegal the expression of any person you hate by defining them as obscene and pornographic. "Existing while visibly trans" will be argued to be pornographic. Women dressing insufficiently modestly will be argued to be pornographic.

I don’t care if you hate porn. Please for the love of god don’t get stuck there cognitively. Anti-porn legislation + how trans and NB people (even cis drag queens/kings) are being consistently described as sexually deviant = the groundwork is being laid for all queer expression to be made illegal.

the thing teenage boys need to hear more than anything else is that it is actually okay if they don't grow up to be men at all. they don't have to feel invested in the political interests of men as a class, bc they dont have to BE men. it's okay if they grow up to be women, or something else :)

One bright side to being forced to live in an AI slop tornado is now I see my artistic mistakes as incredibly endearing. The human machine of my body made that weird line. My worst day of drawing is completely untouchably better than anything AI will ever produce until the heat death of the universe

Hey, so, @ehronlime.bsky.social's Ithaca in the Cards/What Should We Have Tomorrow double-shot hasn't hit its funding target yet, and dangit, that's practically criminal. There's only 5 days to go -- get on it, folks! (I'm particularly excited about Ithaca...) www.kickstarter.com/projects/ehr...
