As I've said, these people have to believe this. They have to believe that their behaviour during the period 2015-19 was all in service of defeating a world historic evil that outclassed Hitler himself. Because if that's not true, well, what would the average person conclude, when faced with this?

Interesting passage in the mea culpa on antisemitism from Tory council candidate at centre of selection row, supporting the view - fiercely denied by most on left at the time - that Corbyn was a magnet drawing antisemitic cranks into Labour. By 2015, when I was 22 turning 23, this ideology had become my whole exis-tence. I welcomed Jeremy Corbyn's election as Labour leader because I saw him as hostile to Israel and aligned with anti-Zionist politics. In my mind, all of this was part of the same war. Alongside those I associated with, I began targeting Jewish MPs and becoming loudly vocal about what we called "Jew-ish infiltration". I think what's happened here is the press immediately recognised the obvious truth of what Hannah Spencer said but their idea of fairness/compromise is to still go in two footed on her, a vile 'leftie', and then circle back and pick up her points a few months on without acknowledging they were hers

Obvs no harm to Scott here who is only the messenger but everything about this can fuck off. Like Benefits Street from last decade, this shit is only being commissioned to manufacture consent for more welfare cuts at a time when neurodivergence is under constant attack from cranks and briefcases.

Bill Oddie, what a lovely bloke. He wrote us a letter when we started making The Young Ones, wishing us the very best, and warning us against interference from higher up. He didn’t know anyone in the cast personally. It just came out of the blue. Lovely thing to do.

Filmmaker Chuck Russell has passed away at 74. Chuck Russell directed The Blob & Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors in the 1980s, and later directed The Mask, Eraser, Bless the Child, The Scorpion King, and Witchboard (2025). A horror legacy that will never be forgotten.
