You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

HEARING AID USERS The national alert that is going off today at 2pm will affect hearing aids if they’re connected via Bluetooth to your phone. It is advisable to disconnect your hearing aids from Bluetooth temporarily because the alarm is very loud. #NationalAlert /nicked from FB

Thanks so much for penning this incredible piece @austingallagher.bsky.social! I live in hope for the day that Inf Lives has the funds to run much, much longer pieces at a fair rate for writers! We’ll get there!

I wrote a piece for @harrisonpolites.bsky.social's Infinite Lives. Lots of cool people took time out of their busy schedule to talk to me about Game Jams (this could have been three times as long with the wealth of information and insight they provided). Check it out! substack.com/home/post/p-...

Amazon, Microsoft and Google now pump out 119 million tonnes of CO₂ a year from AI and cloud, about a THIRD of France’s ANNUAL emissions. Tech for the common good would slash emissions and protect communities, not hide a new fossil‑fuelled footprint in distant data centres.

Something that often goes unsaid: We're against using genAI in our work, and we've also blocked AI crawlers from finding and stealing our work. Even Google. We're not traffic-driven, but in 2026 this has a big impact on how people find us. So, simply following us and sharing our work means a lot 🙏

Negotiations are taking longer with Arkane because of "strict French labor laws" just means Msft can't do whatever they want in countries with reasonable protections for workers. Something to think about.
