Ironically, you’d get far better results accessing Google with an AI using SerpAPI than you ever did from Google dot com Search is better than it’s ever been because of LLMs
【ｒａｎｄｉ】@dopamine.church · 5d agoi just cant take anyone that preaches web search is superior to AI seriously. web search is great - except for the seo manipulation, ads, and lack of weighting of sources, which would be a very difficult task to do even if it wasn't mangled by late stage capitalism and the current political climate.
Ngl i keep seeing this blamed on AI companies but this is just copyright law regarding scanning in action

Stephen Miller said just the other day that all asylum claims are "fake." A couple deported from the U.S. to Guatemala were gagged, bound, and shot dead. Their 14-month old found crying next to their mother's body. People like Miller don't care though because this is the point: ethnic cleansing.

They asked six trivia questions that no normal person would ever know offhand, didn’t provide any way (eg film clips) to answer then, pre-generated incorrect AI answers, and basically just found that people switched from random guessing to using the wrong answer provided
I’m learning that the Chicago school has shooters on bluesky in 2026. Remarkable.

these people love to mock anything that smacks of gender studies but then in turn in these wide-eyed and empty takes and expect to be taken seriously

Begging academics to include methodology with their twenty post "I tested an LLM and this is how it failed" threads, I just saw a huge thread on how they fail at summarizing literature and it turns out the author wasn't actually providing the text, just asking it for summaries based on training data

Until we address the fact most talented soccer players in the US can’t afford to compete because club and travel teams have snuffed rec/school ball out, this is probably going to keep happening.

People who previously didn’t read much are now desperately trying to police writing, that’s my takeaway. Believing there’s one neat trick to spotting AI writing mostly means that you just seeing writing as solely an output.

Anthropic is somehow relearning every lesson that the rest of the tech industry spent the last twenty years learning, such as, "Procurement is ultimately decided by individuals, and if they can't stand your product in their personal projects they won't subject their organizations to it either."

I don’t like how anti-AI sentiment has people making copyright maximalist claims that would make Disney and the RIAA blush. We used to treat attempts to enclose the intellectual commons as naked acts of corrosive greed. Because they are.
