RPGs, motorbikes, sysadminery and punditry. Come for the lovely photos, stay for the lefty politics. https://23x.net/ https://nightfall.games/ https://motomatters.com/category/race_series/world_superbikes http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaredearle/

Who knew this old painting would be worth a few grand, eh? I’ve had it for thirty odd years and it’s smaller than my other original Magic: the Gathering painting, but I could really do with a holiday and this will fund that.

If you’re working with your Meta pervert glasses on, don’t forget that looking at passwords shares them with Meta. I know the immediate solution is to use a password manager, and I’ll never not recommend that, but how about not wearing your pervert glasses?

“The one thing stopping me from being a teacher was that I could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids.” Rust in piss, Rod Liddle.

I’m not one to ever yuck anyone’s yum, and my opinions aren’t worth what you pay for them, but there’s some stuff I just can’t get past. I get that some of you love the Ducati 749/999 but Pierre Terblanche only ever designed two nice motorbikes; the Ducati Supermono and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Ducati cleaned ready for MOT. Both bikes cleaned, tbh, but nobody really wants to see photos of a Triumph 765RS when there’s a ‘97 Ducati 748 available.

If you can bet on wildfires on Polymarket, you are now financially incentivised to start fires. This is the endgame. We are fucked.

I was a 911 dispatcher for a decade. To really understand how terrible an idea it is to have AI answer 911 calls, I'll present you with a single real-life call: Upon answer, the caller calmly began ordering a pizza. Large, pepperoni. Side order of chicken wings. To be delivered promptly.

AI has no place in 911 calls. From Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000’s latest episode “State of Emergency”. (with @emilymbender.bsky.social)

Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface

Her team didn't wait for the all clear, which given the circumstances, they should have, causing the whole embarrassing incident. Some weird mix of entitlement/arrogance/unprofessionalism there didn't help.

Unprecedented. Maria Herrera won (on track) against her championship rival, giving her enough points to claim the 2026 WorldWCR title. The only problem: she got a penalty for knocking a rider off on the last lap, putting her in second place and keeping the championship alive.
