1/ Happy Juneteenth! How a Texas emancipation commemoration spread across the US is an amazing story. But Juneteenth wasn’t the first Black Freedom Day in America—or the only one of its day. So, let’s talk about em’. Pictured: Martha Yates Jones and Pinkie V Yates, Houston Juneteenth, 1908 | HPL
Fraudsters are AI-mincing books and republishing them onto Amazon. This was done to The Isle in the Silver Sea - I assume in the hope people would accidentally click on it. It's been removed, but this is a warning of something to look out for, to my fellow authors.
For Pride, you can preorder my & @cypayseur.bsky.social's favorite queer speculative stories of 2025! There have been many discussions lately about how queer publishing in the US is being squeezed from all directions. Pls support this ONGOING series & make sure it *remains* ongoing 💕 It matters!

Below are some projects I love that are accepting money at this time and the costs of their products.
You have to support the projects you love with money. I am sorry we do not live in a world where that is not the truth.

FIYAH the magazine's hiatus does not impact the operations of the Ignyte Awards or a future convention. We are operating on some shared infrastructure, though, so expenses related to being fully hosted independently will be taken into account in a future crowdfunding/sponsorship cycle.
Our stories are powerful and worthy and deserve a platform. I'm confident that this magazine can return stronger than ever under new leadership, and barring that, new pathways will emerge to share our work with the world. Black writers, we need your stories. Keep writing. Keep going!
DaVaun was my first editor; one of the first folks who saw something in my work. FIYAH brought me into community with many beloved Black SFF authors/kinfolk. But its editors & staff deserve to run the mag with appropriate financial backing. Point, blank, period.
Difficult post, but past time to rip the band aid off. FIYAH is going on hiatus indefinitely, with issue #40 currently set to be our last for the time being. The mag cannot continue running at a loss, and needs time to reassess operations from top to bottom if a viable path forward is to be created.

Cannot stress enough that WE did not make this a problem. Trans people just want to mind our own business. REPUBLICANS made it a problem and liberals went along with it. You didn’t have to do this.
Quickly approaching 100 hours in Fields of Mistria. Cannot express how much I love this game. It brings such silly joy to pet my bunny rabbits, ducks, cows, horses, alpaca, and chickens+ my house cat (who goes outside to fetch wood for us during the day!). And the towniesssss! 🥹

In other words: tell us your prose reads like a disembodied camera dictating tedious physical mannerisms, sans interiority, without telling us that.
I’m tired, boss. These people suck.

As a trans CSA survivor, I cannot emphasize enough how infuriating, dehumanizing, and devastating it is to watch the majority of society around me get so agitated about the hypothetical bogeyman of the "pedophile" (aka queer person) while intentionally ignoring the actual pedophiles in their midst.
