Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

Mornin'. An utterly glorious, joyous piece of noise, originally from Reddit, which still brings me stupid amounts of pleasure several years after it first appeared. Oh, I like this one...😎

£9.9 bn of the £14.9 bn spent on PPE during Covid was wasted according to the enquiry. So no, I do not want to watch Boris Johnson’s desperate exercise in image rehabilitation where he paints himself as the hero who saved Ukraine.

This could very well be the most important story in politics for the last decade and a half. Please read and share this equally harrowing and illuminating account by @carolecadwalla.bsky.social of just how dark the money in politics pit really goes. Absolutely mind blowing.

Farage, the money launderer and me: a decade of denial

If you’re wondering why UK press has suddenly woken up to Farage, please read this. It’s because: Brexit. The r/w press refused to scrutinise the money behind Farage & the lawsuit against me scared off the rest. But this isn’t a new scandal. It’s the same one I’ve been reporting on for a decade

As I said in the Commons last week, Elon Musk is hostile to British values and we must break our addiction to his hateful algorithm. Tommy Robinson is a traitor to our country, and anyone who supports him cannot be forgiven. youtu.be/NEiTYwvooUc?...

Will the UK Govt finally leave X?

Elon Musk’s family foundation took Tommy Robinson to Russia, says Musk’s father

So apparently “anti-establishment” politics now means defending the right of wealthy aristocratic families to make huge undeclared political donations, while “the establishment” is anyone who asks questions about this

This kind of whining - from France - is so very Brexit. Until we take responsibility for the inevitable consequences of our own stupid choices, we will stay stuck in a sulky dead-end calling other people names. Boris Johnson rejected these data sharing arrangements. You get what you pay for. (Times)

Brexit and asylum
Sir, We should be clear that Brexit is not the reason why the UK no longer has access to European criminal databases ("Brexit lets people-smugglers move to UK"
", Jul 3). It is
the spitefulness of the EU which insists that the UK should pay for leaving the bloc. The fight against organised crime should know no borders and only the EU negotiators would disagree. No wonder people say Brexit has failed.

This would almost certainly not be lawful under current rights protections But future govt could seek to pass an Enabling Act to repeal such protections + seek to put Exec actions beyond reach of judicial review, if it had a Commons majority to try + do so. A mass creation of 1000 peers is planned.
