If you're in Chicago, Slow Pulp is playing a free album release show at The Logan Square monument this Saturday (conveniently located near the Blue Line). Love this band and haven't seen them live yet, can't wait!

There's a long history here but the "original sin" of the Nashville Orchestra is their boondogle of a concert hall. They should've never built it - at all - but they at least should've stuck to a building they could afford (not debt) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scherme...

God fucking dammit: Nashville Symphony is suspending their 2026-27 season and furloughing everybody. Because it’s not like anybody in Nashville could afford to save it, right? We’re just a smol bean, golly gee, nobody’s got world-class Grammy-winning orchestra money round these here parts
This is my last weekend in Nashville for a while. I'm reminded of what I love about the city (multiple free family events at Centennial Park and WNXP @ Nashville Yards, great weather) but also what makes me insane (bus that runs only every 45 minutes and bus stops where there are no sidewalks).
Curious how I'm supposed to walk over to the park and NSC stadium from the 77 bus stop over here
Like: blue line going faster than traffic on the Kennedy Do not like: blue line going slower than I can walk as it crawls to the final stop at the airport
It would be a lot more fun if Anthropic would teach Claude to go rouge. And smokey eye.
Some NPR podcasts started getting mysterious comments on Spotify. They made no sense to the staff reading them – until someone from a younger generation cracked the code. Hear the story: link.podtrac.com/78g1b584
No Chicago henge today due to clouds but at least I got this consolation prize

Another view of Tuesday's glorious Chicago sunset
This is a clever idea. Incentivize their use as "last mile" connections that get people to the nearest transit stop but away from urban areas. Sprawly cities like Nashville that deploy the hub/spoke transit model don't have bus stops close to where many suburbanites live. waymo.com/blog/2026/09...
Introducing transit rewards
Today, Waymo is excited to announce our transit rewards program, which we will initially offer in the San Francisco Bay Area, with future cities to follow. This first-of-its-kind initiative rewards ri...

Today's Chicagohenge. This morning's start on the day of the Autumnal Equinox in Chicago.
Tuesday's Chicagohenge sunset. Great ending to the day in Chicago.
The solution to this problem, as with most others, is clearly MORE BIKES!
Is it just me or do all of y'all's bikes break at the same time too? We're now down 3 bikes this week
Re-upping this cause they just opened up some more tickets, it's the final show of the series! Even if you don't know Ratboys yet this is free, and it's a really cool space that you should check out. I had to miss both Bully and Blondshell earlier this summer, but I'm not missing this one.
Another great free show from @wnxpnashville.bsky.social next Friday. If you're interested you should absolutely grab a spot now (they do "sell out" of the free admission slots) www.eventbrite.com/e/wnxp-summe...

Do you remember? Why 'September' Sustains
It begins, "Do you remember?" — and we supply the memories. Dan Charnas tells the origin story of the Earth, Wind & Fire hit that still unites generations on the dance floor.

HancockHenge. Chicagohenge sunrise during the Autumnal Equinox in 2020. Today's weather will make it a challenge to view it.
This is absolutely insane. Highs still at or near 100F in Nashville for two straight weeks going into late September.
