Love to be cooking frozen vegetables at the height of summer because the one Kennedy who deserved the curse decided to inflict his own fucked up vision of natural selection on the American populace.

i am a simple man. if your movie has spandex guys punching bad guys in it, i’ll watch it. so i did enjoy this movie, but there was one little thing in it that bugged me on an ethical level and the more i thought about it the more it bugged me.

Price is by far the most legible characteristic in a low-information online marketplace, so yes, people will index on it often. That doesn't mean it's what they *want*. They are satisficing not the object but the process of choosing the object.

to take an actual crack at this: requiring effort to access entertainment (set schedules, physical media, rare reruns, limited home access), often meant you proved yourself a fan by dint of the consumption itself, and I think that’s been replaced by toxic fandom to prove your bona fides.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

my neighborhood 7-11 closed a couple years ago and tried to reopen but couldn’t get the permit approved because there’s a preschool next door and 7-11s sell alcohol (the previous permit was grandfathered in). i saw a fence going up around the lot recently and looked up what was moving in: a gun shop

whenever someone tells you that it's simply impossible for police to be charged with misconduct or criminal charges, you can tell they're wrong because some cops do get charged regularly — when they are whistleblowers or reformers prosecutors are actually extremely eager to help drum them out!
