Pennsylvania guy, music fan and concertgoer, Philly fan, Pitt alum. Comms for PA’s common good and democracy. Fmr PA Gov press secretary. Personal account.

Partyka: My son, like so many people on Medicaid, works over 40 hours a week. People on Medicaid are not the “parasite class,” as this horrible, out-of-touch administration has described them. They are your friends and your neighbors—and in this case, he is my son.

Dave McCormick just cast the deciding vote for this BS bill that raises costs of health care, food and utilities, and leaves Pennsylvanians to die. The bill now goes to the House where PA’s GOP delegation will decide its fate. Call and let them know how you feel at 202-224-3121.

Orange graphic with images of Dave McCormick, and PA’s GOP Congressional delegation with text that reads “One big bullshit bill- hurt 400,000 Pennsylvanians’ access to SNAP, shut down senior care centers across PA, cut 1 in 4 Pennsylvanians from medicaid, shutter access to care for kids and pregnant women, cost PA 49,000 jobs.”

Dwight Evans is one of the people I will tell my children I was lucky to have served with and learned from. His impact was felt in all corners of our state and now he’s letting new leadership step forward. Congratulations Dwight on a career for the history books.

Van Hollen: "The real problem is Republicans refuse to ask billionaires to contribute more to the overall good of the country ... they have an obsession with giving tax cuts to very rich people and big corporations and everything else is sacrificed for that cause."

I’d also just ask Pennsylvania’s senator to prioritize the best interest of Pennsylvanians, instead of warmongering leaders of other nations.

Senator John Fetterman was snidely dismissive of Dems who say Trump bombing Iran without congressional authorization is potentially an impeachable offense. Here's Rep @casten.house.gov responding to Fetterman on our pod with a very pointed challenge to him: newrepublic.com/article/1971...

ICE targeted immigrant workers this week in the Harrisburg area (below at a gas station in New Cumberland). You can see these men are in work clothes and boots. Immigrants of all status contribute so much to our economy in Central PA. Republicans are putting cruelty ahead of our communities.

There is literally no modern or even recent historical example where the “start a war to force regime change to then make a country better for the civilians” works. It’s insanity. Reality is it will make their lives worse. It is a lie meant to justify war for other reasons.

As the June 30 state budget deadline draws closer, it’s not just SEPTA facing a fiscal cliff. The other 32 fixed-route transit systems across the commonwealth are at risk — which means the Pennsylvania Senate Republicans blocking funding will hurt their own districts, too.

Not just SEPTA: Public transit is in trouble all across Pennsylvania, including in GOP districts.

SEPTA isn’t the only mass transit agency in Pennsylvania that’s hurting. Meet the 32 others.
