El-Sayed: There is so much more that unites us, however much we might disagree with our democratic opponent, there is so much more that unites us than divides us. And so to all of our supporters here tonight watching on TV—tomorrow, we begin to mend fences.

The @nytimes inexplicably continues to assert that "the Justice Department ... gave [Trump] the audit protection as part of a deal to end the lawsuit." Nope. It wasn't included in the "deal." It's a unilateral--and blatantly unlawful--decree by the Acting AG. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/b...

Republicans Let Trump Keep Unparalleled Benefit: I.R.S. Immunity

The rebellion against Todd Blanche’s nomination to be attorney general, now seemingly contained, at no point fundamentally questioned President Trump’s new protections from the I.R.S.

The only rational reason to confirm Blanche is because you’re so afraid of standing up to Trump that you’ll overlook Blanche’s consistent elevation of Trump’s self interest over the law. Senators voting to confirm should at least be honest about their cowardice. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/u...

Blanche Gives G.O.P. Senators Written Assurances on Trump’s I.R.S. Deal

Marco Rubio says that Cuba is an "espionage super power" which poses a grave threat to the national security of the US. Actually no rational national security analyst believes this, and I doubt Rubio does either.

Europeans need to understand that what's happening in 🇺🇸 isn't unique & not about culture or individual-level stuff, & we need to understand that our institutions are irreparably broken/discredited & need to be reformed. Hard discussions on both sides.

Actually, Americans are just like you. ~20-30% of them genuinely support fascism, as in ~every 🇪🇺 country. You are just more fortunate to have political institutions & a multiparty system that prevent that 20-30% from fully capturing the center-right party, becoming 51%, & controlling the government.
