I’m told the Pittsburgh sinkhole bus, which had been in a dead line to be scavenged for parts to keep other buses running, was instead fixed and put on the road yesterday. It needs a special wrap, which basically just covers the part of the back that sank, maybe an animated pavement/dirt thing.

And another is the role of landlords, who often own farms but live in cities and act as diffusers after testing the tech on their own houses.
i guess this is because i attended an education system that was (re)constructed by marxists but i have never understood why 'the education system is designed primarily to produce workers' is some kind of gotcha

Fast fashion didn’t nearly kill American fashion retail because people thought Forever 21 and Gap were equivalent quality, or they couldn’t be sure how big the difference was. That happened because people wanted to buy more clothes for less money and wear them fewer times and then get more new stuff
It just occurred to me that the final episode of MASH does a better job with what Nolan was trying to do. Imagine O telling the sack 3 times: first he witnesses a Greek killing an unarmed Trojan man, then it's O killing him, then the reveal that it's O killing Athena's priestess.

All of this is to say, GM was picking the bones of the dying streetcar companies. Think vultures, not eagles. And when we talk about the GM conspiracy charges... GM-affiliated National City Lines actually kept streetcars running longer than peer systems. 10/

Among many other things this is a good illustration of the necessity of untethering ideology and "fight" in intra-Democratic battles. The party is very united on fight, very divided on ideology. You unite on fight, let different constituencies/states find their center of gravity on ideology.
In a month or so, the polls will flip from RV to LV, and that screen is pushing these numbers only one way.

People didn't consume fresh produce because they didn't want to, access barely mattered to consumption habits by income. Grocery stores in poor areas basically subsidized the fresh produce they did carry by selling soda, tobacco and processed food at high markups.
Hot take: A certain kind of American leftism is deeply culturally Protestant, even if it disbelieves in God, because of its preeminent focus on having the right inner mindset and intention and feeling properly guilty about one's moral failings to live up to a certain standard.
