This past weekend Marc Kennedy and wife Nicole hosted the 8th annual Marc Kennedy Curling in St. Albert. 75 teams. 304 athletes from western Canada and Ontario. 178 games played. Marc brought the Brier Tankard. Special stuff. Inspiring the next great curlers in Canada.

Duties of the rink members The lead must never forget to 1. Supply necessary refreshments to 2nd, third and skip. 2. Tell the skip, at least once each end, what a good curler he is. 3. Clean the skip's stones before he plays. 4. Look after the carrying of all brooms. The second must: 1. Perform any of the lead's duties which he has neglected. 2. Harass the opposing skip by asking senseless questions as he is about to play. 3. Drop at least one hair on the ice prior to each member of the opposing team playing. 4. Let his skip know that he is proud to be included in the rink. The third will: 1. Make sure that glenfarclas whisky is purchased by the lead. 2. Supply transportation to and from the rink. 3. Cheerfully lend money to lead and second if they run short. 4. See that the lead and second do not get together to say derogatory things about the skip. The skip always:- 1. takes full credit for all games won. 2. Distributes the blame fairly for all games lost, between 2nd and 3rd. 3. Walks up and down the ice trying to look intelligent. 4. Expects to be recognised and suitably entertained as a skip for the remainder of his life.
