⚔️ Creator of TACTICS MEMORIAM a Strategy TTRPG about Death and Identity 🎲 Best Indie Game Master Finalist (Crit Awards 2025) 🧚‍♀️ Award Winning Fantasy Writer (The Realm Tree audio drama) 🎭 Professional Actor, Voice Actor, and Comedian (NYC, Osaka) 💟 any/all

It's important to understand the distinction between plot and story. I put it like this: Plot is what happens, story is why you care about what happens. And story is always explored through characters. If all you do is get a summary of the plot you've missed the entire point of the book.

There are basically two types of AI users: (1) "I delegated all my thinking to the AI, I assume that's for the best." (2) "After 350 hours of coding I finally have a decent self-evolving harness loop that forces the model to actually follow the instructions in my prompt. It works 53% of the time."

Axios writer: I melted my brain with AI. Not only can I no longer read, but I don't even understand the purpose of reading anymore. Here's how you can also do this. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...

Axios: AI has become my reading buddy as I've plowed through my summer book list, helping me keep track of plots and characters, unpack themes, and make sense of wordy, old prose.

Why it matters: The way many of us actually read books — a few pages before bed, a chapter at the beach, another on a plane — makes it easy to lose the thread. AI can help you pick it back up without starting over.
📖 I really got into using AI while reading James Fenimore Cooper's "The Last of the Mohicans." The text was far too dense for casual vacation reading. My first prompt asked:

"I'd like a guide as I read The Last of the Mohicans who can help me understand what I've read and where the story is, without giving spoilers or getting ahead of my progress. Can you do this, chapter by chapter?"
The robot agreed: "Cooper's sentences are long and his diction is archaic."

This weekend between Tactics Memoriam’s rule sections I wrote up a little gay pirate romance within the world of the TTRPG Want to make sure I scare away any bigotry in case the whole “trans affirming grid-based SRPG” concept isn’t immediately clear from jump

v1.130 is live! Want to follow someone for their posts but not their reposts? Now you can — turn on "Hide reposts in feeds" for any account you follow.

A screenshot demonstrating how to hide reposts from an individual user: Go to their profile, tap the three-dot icon at top right, and select "Hide reposts in feeds" from the drop-down menu.

If you missed it, Jenna rolled up her character before stream (character creation is quick!) and got: -Sky Knight -Drop dead gorgeous -A talented musician -Cool hat! She asked if she could be a cool hat that flies around rather than wearing a cool hat. To which I obviously said yes.

D&D surely is the lingua franca of Actual Play, just like English is the linguistic lingua franca of Actual Plays. That doesn't mean you can't introduce people to new languages. Just like "actual" languages, the more TTRPGs you "speak", the more colorful your experience in the hobby will be.

Debate over the classical validity of Nolan’s Odyssey confuses me. From Odysseus’s first scene in the movie (adopting a dog from the casual culling of a puppy litter) it feels clear that we are seeing a modern man navigate a lionized violent world, both among humans and monsters. (1/3)

I truly feel for kids growing up now who will have to unlearn using AI, but if you've been writing for more than 2 years it is the easiest thing in the world to just Keep Doing The Thing You Did and ignore AI tools!! It makes me feel crazy that people act like this isn't the case!!!

it's actually sad as hell to use AI for research when research is the fun part. you can just email people and call them on the phone and ask them questions about the thing that they have expertise in. you can read documents & learn cool shit. ok now i'm just talking about how being a reporter is fun

The sad thing is, even if ChatGPT/LLM addicts let it sink in that they’re unreliable and a bad source of info, they can’t just go back to Googling like before because that whole site is also ass now due to AI A handful of greedy tech magnates made this tech ubiquitous and we’re all worse off for it

it all just sort of makes sense, now, huh. all this shit was just generated by AI and he believed it all enough to parrot it on his podcast, and his fact checking team had to clean up after him this is a really massive blow to popular science. Everything is in question now. does he realize this?

Hit my Tactics Memoriam playtester with a stealth map today. They had to reach a lever undiscovered to open a gate, or be mobbed by enemies. They had a three turn win which involved teleporting, movement boosting, and creating stone pillars to cut off a guard’s line of sight. I was so proud!
