In Massachusetts, we have a responsibility to protect the vulnerable and stand up for those who need it. We don’t throw trans kids under the bus for political points. We protect them—and all of our neighbors—because trans rights are human rights.
As someone who has been covering transgender rights for years, let me be clear about something: When you see capitulation over sports, know that it NEVER stops at sports. And in fact, Turek illustrated this just yesterday when he embraced a federal ban on funding for all trans care.
Josh Turek in Iowa now takes the strongest anti-trans stance of any Democrat yet. “Josh opposes taxpayer-funded sex changes, and anyone who says otherwise is lying,” said Hannah Goss, a spokeswoman for the Turek campaign. This would include Medicaid and adult care.
“Yeah it’s cute you think you live in a democracy and all but the “adults” aren’t listening.”
It's interesting to see a former top Biden aide explain "No amount of public support in polling or public protest will influence how or when those in power drastically change Israel policy" — ie, he's just straight up saying the US is not a democracy. x.com/MichaelLaRos...
The NYT totally ignores socialist @davidmoralespvd.bsky.social's huge Providence mayoral upset & his slate sweeping the council, instead only covering the governor's loss Even there, it doesn't accurately report McKee's defeat as a rejection of do-nothing centrism, but as a squabble over traffic
Helena Foulkes Defeats Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee in Democratic Primary
Ms. Foulkes, a former CVS executive, had hammered Mr. McKee for his handling of a bridge closure that created traffic nightmares.

Democrats are ratfucking themselves, slugger
Oh look, it's Ratfuck the Democrats season again.
lol wouldn’t it be weird if democrats realized that people actually just don’t like people with no values and mealy-mouthed middle of the road lesser evil politics like who would imagine that voters choose authenticity even when it’s authentically evil. if only they could find a value to defend.
Beyond sick of Democrats excusing or just openly spouting anti-trans bigotry. It's getting really bad as campaign season escalates. You ain't the damn resistance if you're collaborating with major parts of fascism. There's other words for that.
This faded bouquet of oak leaves on my hood was so lovely, it felt like a gift
I somehow finagled a night to myself without my partner and my kid, and when I tell you I cannot remember the last time this happened...
Well,
As murder rates plummet to a 20-year low, why are so many American cities still grappling with disorder? In @themimsshow.bsky.social, Carine Hajjar sits down with Heather Mac Donald to explore “teen takeovers,” pushback against progressive prosecutors and more.
This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.
For the first time in over 30 years, Newfoundland and Labrador’s Northern cod stock has been deemed “healthy” by Ottawa. www.canadianaffairs.news/2026/09/05/i...
LMAO this is what happens when I have ever-so-slightly more than 5mg of edibles
I swear, my partner loves fall the most because the chill in the air is suddenly free air conditioning from the sky. The guy runs hot!

So we got a dog carrier for Brody for our family bike rides, and he's being so brave about it
My parents are on the flight path to the airport in Hyannis, and sometimes when we're in the pool, it eerily feels like that scene from breaking bad

Today, we were on a nearby bike trail and decided to stop for an impromptu dinner at the clubhouse of the town's golf course, right off the trail. Mind you, I hate golf, and the golfers were predictably douchy and cold, but our server was so kind, and our little fam had a blast regardless.
Saddest dog in the universe because I only gave him like 50 pieces of popcorn instead of all of them, like some monster
Me, singing softly to myself in the garden, admiring a plant that is thriving after I thought it was a goner: "don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years..."
