Does anyone know of anyone that would benefit from stitch embroidery, lacemaking text books? My dad is trying to re-home mums collection, some of which are rare and expensive very niche techniques like medieval plumping (dont ask me). If anyone's interested please DM me

Apparently, this recipe is a main course for 4: "Ingredients 2oz lamb 1 Lemon 1 teaspoon red chilli pepper 2 Carrots 250 ml tomato sauce 1 clove garlic 6 or 7 shallots 1 ActiFry spoon olive oil 1 teaspoon salt" First step in Preparation is "cut the lamb into cubes", which will be a challenge.
I'm far, but would go to this before any othet event that hands out an AI image filled flyer. Go if you can, and mention that this helped you decide to support it.
I wish to patronise this show
Can anyone shed any light on what appears to be a time-travelling Triumph Vitesse? Really not convinced by TimeGuessr's assertion that this pic was taken in 1952... (The car behind the Vitesse in the full picture also looks to be late 60s but is less distinctive)
Hey everyone let’s see if we can get @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social to adopt these poor cats; their human just died and they need a home!* *mayor mansion optional they just need a home!
FRIENDS IN THE NYC AREA: Okay, this is a tough one, but please bear with me. My wife's lifelong friend has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is desperately seeking a home for his two cats when that time comes. The elder, Wally, is something like 13 years old and DELIGHTFULLY dim. The younger, Doris,

A disappointing day of wrestling with Kafka meets Little Britain in the decidedly suboptimal university accommodation allocation process But the special award goes to Capita for getting a vital DSA email banished to spam by sending it out to an English applicant written in Welsh.
🚨 Calling on the history/museum/LARP nerds of Bsky! I'm looking for someone who does lorica squamata repair! Bonus if they're in the North West, but I will courier it elsewhere in the UK if necessary.
Anyone know of a spot in Cambridge where you can lurk all day with a board game? I know there is a board game cafe but their booking system only allows three hour slots We wanna play a game with a lot of cubes so we need time and space. 😎
Is there a handy list or publication of medieval manuscripts produced IN Oxford, pre-1500? Out of my depth here bibliographically. @obs1922.bsky.social?
One for the car-nut side of my feed: looking for a vehicle with a flat 6' x 4' load bed (ie estate car with properly fold flat seats) that might be insurable for an 18 year old, and reliable enough for a lone female on long motorway runs. (Yes, we need a harp-carrier for the elder offspring at uni)

Finally found an upside to this weather. Any fox poo that the dog finds to roll in is so thoroughly desiccated that it brushes straight off without needing a three day course of shampoo washes to remove it.
As I'm waiting for a big video to export, I shall tell the story of how I nearly died in a Greek trireme.

JFC I am having another episode. Left: AI colourisation. Right: Original Details in ALT. Bottomline, we cannot trust this technology, it is a thieving hallucination machine. #fuckai @garius.bsky.social @curatorian.bsky.social @rafhistory.bsky.social

Just had an unsolicited email from a Senior Product Evangelist. Now trying to work out if I can wash my inbox with soap and water.
Anyone had a particularly good experience with movers in North London and have their details?
Claude is not capable of tracking down someone who knows someone who can get access to an old church in a small town in another country to rummage in the attic for an old tin full of old records for a scrap of paper on which a deceased priest wrote the record of an ancestor’s wedding, with errors
Happy household - as well as getting into first choice university, elder offspring got Singing Diploma results back this morning; a Merit in that as well.
One for the automotive side of my feed: a few years back I bought a CTEK battery conditioner. It’s failed, within warranty, costing me many times its purchase price in trashed batteries (yes, plural). CTEK aren’t interested in honouring the warranty; should I risk another, or are there alternatives?
