Portland, OR guy likes to bike, environmentalist focused on climate justice, clean air, clean water, safe climate, views my own.

In conclusion, I agree with Councilor Morillo: It is *wild* to read this story about Dan Ryan in a legal proceeding about violating records laws comically saying his spouse gave his phone away and then oops no he didn’t after threat of contempt and not see this anywhere on the TV news.

I think quite a few of us use bikes as an important antidepressant, both as a spot treatment and to maintain baselines long term though regular use. for about 20 years I’ve referred to bikes as “good mood machines” just based on my immediate experience after I ride them

This right here. The fact that so many “sober” minded people and institutions endorsed Sam Adams in 2024 when his full record of misconduct was fully known, should tell you everything you need to know about those people. You should not vote for or listen to anyone who endorsed Adams.

Yeah I just think a newspaper that endorsed predator and staff abuser Sam Adams has no place talking to me about propriety. It’s not about that. It’s about power. They can’t critique my effectiveness so they’ll just call me a bitch lol

As always with Rs, the sense is not so much that they deny the physical phenomenon of climate change as the presence or absence of the phenomenon simply never enters their thinking. They interact with it *purely* as a partisan matter, something libs care about. No awareness of a world beyond.

Burgum: "You don't the word 'climate change' as much as you did two years ago, because the legs have been knocked out from under that movement"

They asked me about my decorum and I reminded them women are being raped at Cornell, a woman running for Congress was raped in the middle of the night, so they should worry less about me being a bitch (a very gendered critique considering other behavior on council) and deliver for the working class

You were amazing. I saw people clapping (quietly since they told us not to) when you answered the question about bluesky

Amendment Kanal 2 to the Title 17 ordinance (part of the CEI Hub project) passes! This is an updated version of pre-filed amendment Kanal 1. It passed 10-2. Thanks to Councilors Avalos, Dunphy, Pirtle-Guiney, Koyama Lane, Morillo, Novick, Clark, Green, & Zimmerman for their support!

More than half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Starbuck's CEO took home $31 million - 1,794 times more their median worker. Live Nation's CEO made $33 million - 976 times the median pay. The system has been rigged against the working class, but the Fair Share Tax starts to change that.

Our Fair Share Tax proposal is coming to Committee of the Whole this Thursday morning at 9:30. If you think it’s a good idea to cut taxes for small businesses, raise taxes on large mega corporations, while raising more money to fund critical services then we need to hear from you.

I think this is clearly what’s gone wrong in the oregon governor’s race. voters are wavering on kotek because they’re not sure she can get single stair done and she clearly needs to reassure the electorate on this issue

Dan Keshet@dankeshet.bsky.social · 3d ago

With Talarico up 51-45 on Paxton, it's safe to declare this race a referendum on Talarico's single stair bill. The majority of Texans are giving a resounding yes to Senator Single Stair.

I'm fully supportive of the Fair Share Tax proposal introduced by Portland City Councilors this week; I encourage you to reach out to City Hall in support of the initiative to lower taxes on small businesses and raise taxes on large corporations. Submit testimony in the link below:

A new complaint filed Monday alleges a web of new committees funded by the Metro Chamber's United for Portland PAC violated local and state elections laws by obscuring the true funding source of political billboards and filing false campaign-finance statements.

this is of course the next move after we officially kill the proposed $3 billion rose quarter freeway expansion that intends to double the width of I-5 into the backyard of Harriet Tubman Middle School, instead of removing the freeway it entirely and replacing it with homes transit and parks

I would love, love, LOVE a local / regional politician to really pick up the ball and run with this! I know it requires massive multijurisdictional coordination and a lot of time, but just being very vocal about it and keeping it in the public imagination helps!

i find it hilarious that the very people mad at me for shining a light on old guard, dubious backroom dealing have decided to attack me by doing even more obfuscation and committing crimes in the process. just come at me openly and on the merits guys.

one of the ways the media shows which side they prefer, is which politicians they quote uncharitably out-of-context and which they clean up for even when what they actually say and do is offensive (the Biden story ran on the front page less than a week before the 24 election)
