I was deputy M.E. at the WSJ when Murdoch took over, with a similar “editorial independence board.” Within 4 months, our top editor was gone, replaced by a loyal Murdoch deputy. That board raised a quivering objection, but the deed was done. If the Ellisons own CNN, they’ll do whatever they want.
He also said there is nothing specific in the deal that requires paramount to remain headquarter in California, but he ‘believes’ it will be….

I'm watching this guy review a Linux distro that really emphasizes "ai agents" and this looks like hell. People really live like this? This is how they manage their computer experience? Failing to change their computer wallpaper and toolbar? [I cut down this SIGNIFICANTLY from 6 minutes too]

Colin@colin-fraser.net · 2w agoInstrumental convergence says that a smart enough thermostat will realize that if it is unplugged, it will lose control of the room temperature, so it will take steps to prevent itself from being unplugged (the "self-preservation" instrumental goal), like killing anyone who comes near it.
