A beautiful, inspiring and thought-provoking couple of days at my first *big* BARS. Brum was a very welcoming city, with some beautiful architecture. And, as always, I'm in awe of having such incredibly clever friends and meeting such amazing people in the field. I loved #bars2026 so much ✨️

Was so lovely to see you, and thanks for such an amazing paper! Your bisexual lighting slide was possibly my favorite thing of the conference 🤣
Sun sets on #BARS2026 🌅 I had the best time meeting friends old and new. So many great panels presenting important research during a time of global/sector crisis. And a huge plus is that BARS really is the best most welcoming bunch for PGRs!!!
Conference nerves finally give way to excitement! I’m at #BARS2026 this week!! Very excited to be presenting on the Queer Austen panel and reconnect with familiar faces 🫶🏼🏳️🌈 Grateful to the Keats-Shelley Memorial Association for the travel bursary that allowed me to attend!
📣CfP Alert📣 We are delighted to announce that our CfP for the 2027 RRR conference is now open! The deadline for abstracts is the 25th of October. The focus will be on ecosystems of the long nineteenth century 🌱 We can’t wait to read your submissions!
I’ll be travelling to upstate NY to look at a portrait which brings together many of the questions at the heart of my research: women’s artistic and musical education, eighteenth-century portraiture, and networks of cultural exchange between Britain, Italy, and India around 1800 👩🎨🌍💌
Kickstarting my next project on Jane Austen and Fantasy, I’m using this award for an research trip to consult ‘The Delightful Tales of Fairy Land’ by J.E. Austen I hope to trace Austen’s connection to the genre in her own novels, their illustrated editions, and multi-media adaptations 🧚🏻♀️🧝🏽♀️🦄🧞♀️🧙🏻♀️

Happy Burns day! 🏴🏴 My dad was part of a Burns Club and would address the haggis every year. As I little girl I remember looking through his copy of Robert Burns: The Scottish Bard. I never found his book when he passed away but I hope he loaned it to someone who is using it tonight!
