Data centers have become one of the U.S.'s most potent political flashpoints, uniting coalitions on the left and right like few issues do. We sent @mollytaft.com on a journey into the data center resistance. The Unabomber, Steve Bannon’s tech guy, and Bernie Sanders made appearances along the way:

How Data Centers Broke American Politics

I’m hearing from multiple sources that they believe there is indeed a surge happening in NYC. This incident, in Inwood, happened amid multiple days of ICE in the area, as activity was also reported in Corona (Queens), Bensonhurst, Bushwick (Brooklyn), & Port Richmond (Staten Island) this past week.

Masked ICE thug just casually shooting pepper spray at a few old ladies standing peacefully on the sidewalk filming them in uptown Manhattan today. Just because these monsters are quieter now doesn’t mean they’re not still out there violating people.

150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.

We (me and @lhh.bsky.social) talk a good amount about these dilemmas in in our book Solidarity: The Past, Present, and Future of a World-Changing Idea. Here's a Dig interview from just before the election that gives a decent overview if it's of interest: thedigradio.com/podcast/soli...

On The View, soccer champ Megan Rapinoe brought attention to the dangers of WA's I-638, the most extreme MAGA measure of its kind in the US. "It's more than just a couple of trans kids being able to participate in youth sports. It's an attack on women." Vote NO on I-638 this November. #NoHateWAState

There has been a massive uptick in ICE kidnappings in Washington State. We know why. Researchers at The University of Washington have been tracking these illegal kidnappings and the data that is helping ICE surveil and stalk people. This data is being shared with the feds. Mostly by local cops.
