This anti-animal testing post from the EPA head - a man otherwise busy helping Big Oil incinerate the planet - is what we're talking about. As we should all know by now, MAGA doesn't have to be coherent or sincere to connect with people.

Went on @thenation.com's Fighting Fascism podcast to discuss a phenomenon too few are talking about: How the MAGA right are claiming to be animal welfare champions. The right loves to fill a vacuum and liberals/leftists are leaving a big one by ignoring the issue. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/i...

A very trusted and beloved friend is writing a story for a major outlet about Medicaid estate recovery. Has anyone been through this, or do you know a friend or family member who has lost a home through this process who might want to share their story?

these guys really are telling on themselves by naming antifa as their ultimate enemy. if your adversaries are anti-fascist, then it is pretty clear what you are.

The fires in Ontario - like so many others - demonstrating viscerally how climate change perpetuates the displacement and dispossession of Indigenous peoples, who have least contributed to emissions and over and over again put their bodies on the line to prevent fossil fuel development.

An eye-opening account of how the data center boom is pushing our planet past its breaking point

Instead of founding fathers let us aspire to be perennial midwives, helping always to deliver democracy anew. (The last line of Democracy May Not Exist, but We'll Miss It When It's Gone.)

Thinking about the lethal heat as white supremacists amass in DC. @naomiaklein.bsky.social and I frame the rise of what we call End Times Fascism as a *war over who survives the future.* The far right knows the earth is warming and their response isn’t denial—it’s monstrous survivalist supremacy.

What kind of fascist hellscape is happing on Pennsylvania Ave at the Eastern Market Metro stop? These guys—seemingly all white, all men—have their faces covered, are carrying shields, wearing brown …

It actually smells burnt outside in NYC it’s so intensely hot. But New Yorkers never cease to be cool. Special appreciation to the guy I just passed giving water to overheated pigeons.

With nearly all votes in, Sen. John Hickenlooper won his primary just 53-47. This got far less attention than the left’s outright wins, but it’s historically bad for an incumbent. Only two Dem senators since 1972 have lost renomination to challengers to their left, & he massively outspent Gonzales

New York Times election results summary for the Democratic primary for Senate in Colorado. Incumbent John Hickenlooper defeated progressive challenger Julie Gonzales by just 53-47 with nearly all votes counted.

The eleventh issue of Hammer & Hope is now live! We are besieged by a ruling class focused on maintaining white power. They represent one tradition in the United States. But there is another, found in 250 years of resistance, rebellion, and refusal. One that continues today — because it must.

On Trump v Slaughter decision: “Today’s decision breaks with nearly a century of precedent to jettison protections for independent agencies and vastly expand the scope of executive power,” said Amit Agarwal, Special Counsel at Protect Democracy.”

The heatwave in Europe is so extreme, it's 25–32°F (14–18°C) above normal. You read that right. France recorded it's hottest day ever. The UK had its hottest ever June day. The ground is exceeding 122°F (50°C). People are dying. Tell me again why we shouldn't talk about climate change???

Astra’s point is well defended, but title really says it all. Mamdani admin is besieged by all varieties of entrenched power because if NYC flourishes the myth of social democratic naïveté evaporates. If humanist policies raise the standard of living, the Washington Consensus is truly cooked.

"Centrists don’t fear bad government...They fear a left-wing that governs well. That’s the terrifying threat Mamdani poses to the status quo—and the massive opportunity his administration presents for all of those who want to transform it." Read the whole forum: hammerandhope.org/forums/mamda...
