thing ive noticed about ai: any prompt you (or anyone) comes up with is inherrently more interesting and artistic than what that prompt spits out for you. You end up with the equivalent of, like, an improv scene with a really interesting premise that has nothing to do other than restating its bit

So a masculinist understanding of notetaking would think a transcription app is the same as taking notes. That’s why they think an AI transcript is a time-saver. They think the notes are the thinking because when a human takes the notes, it is.

I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them

Notetaking in meetings is tiny case in point - used to be some predictable social assumptions who would do it; now anyone can offer to do ”notetaking” by turning on the AI listener. Further interesting scenario is human recollection / notes (taken by habit by a person) conflict with AI summary

anyone else have stims you can only do by yourself because they come up autonomously (i.e., i cant do it on command and wouldnt know how other than via acting) and they only happen to come up when youre alone / think youre not being watched

The Simpsons is a show that started in the 1980s based on the creators own childhood in the 1950s that continues into the 2020s; fortunately future cultural historians will be able to refer to it simply as taking place in the 'late Washington dynasty'

Lisa Simpson’s wedding, which took place 15 years in the future at the time it aired, now takes place 16 years in the past. #TheSimpsons

It's confusing because police unions use the same words and phrases as labor unions. They've got acronyms and numbers and logos and negotiating lead and all that. Police unions should not be accorded the same level of respect and validity as labor unions. There's no mutual interest there. 4/?

Meanwhile, the market has - Dozens of confirmed early cases (the lab has zero) - Clusters within the market near animal stalls - traces of virus found in animal cages Leakers often cite "bayesian likelihood" but animal spillover is common while a novel virus leaking from a lab has never happened.

Ken is known for his artwork depicting furry feline women and star trek characters. He also assisted in the creation of the Confurence Zero artbook in 1989! Ken is also one of the founders of the macrophile genre! During the 1980s Ken created a large number of species designs with insect traits!

Today we would like to recognize Ken Sample aka Ken Cougar. A Black man who is credited with creating and coining the term "Fursona". While drawing one of his "Exotics" Ken drew a Cougar character that looked strikingly like himself. Attendees of this conference also wanted their own characters!

I’m chair of a city committee to review the city’s committees, and I’ve been thinking a -lot- about the root causes behind the fact that our tree and bicycle committees are incredibly high functioning while our commissions for women and persons with disabilities struggle to get traction. 1/?

And if you wonder why I'm pissed this Disability Pride Month — in addition to rights being rolled back — a raccoon with a spinal condition has gotten more attention than any of those issues or Disability Pride Month.

Remember during Covid when they relaxed open container laws so you could grab a cocktail and walk around and it was completely fine and the world did not end

Sometimes I think it’s too reductive to say that a car is a uniquely deranging object to own, but then I see people who claim left politics compare the people trying to turn a carpark into a children’s home to Netanyahu and I think “no, the car has made you crazy”

@kayfourbee.bsky.social Local authority decision would exacerbate local reource shortage. But instead of seeing a better decision which doesn't create a resources crisis, your preferred solution is to tell people to eff off. That sounds liks the Netanyahu approach to urban planning […]
