Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

Oh no. Exactly what everyone who knows literally *anything* about it said would happen did in fact happen. Wow. So now all the other know nothings in other governments around the world who are planning on giving away everyone's privacy will stop and think for a single second, right? Right??

Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...

Any music platform worth their salt should be banning AI music altogether. It's bad enough that you make millions profiteering off the sweat and blood of musicians with little return, but to profit off AI shysters, is another level of dystopia.

Screengrab from Tidal music platform saying Allow AI Content. When on, music labeled with the AI badge will be playable. To prevent AI-label3d music from playing, switch this off. (Tracks will appear greyed out).

The Irish government have two modes: A) Doing nothing. B) Making something illegal (and not worrying about enforcement). A social media ban *looks* like they're being tough on tech companies, when in reality it lets big tech off the hook for many of the harms they're responsible for.

In no length of time those in power will cite the failure of/overinvestment in the AI project for our infrastructure failing I can SMELL it, but will they do anything now to prevent that damage? god no that would be hasty we've to cross the point of no return first and THEN regret it

Farmer organisations like the IFA and Macra, the ICMSA and @talamhbeo.bsky.social should come out with public statements about how Irish agriculture needs a minister that acknowledges that climate change is here, now and the industry needs to both adapt and mitigate for it - fast.

Noel Grealish attended ‘anti-woke’ conference addressed by Nigel Farage. Department of Agriculture confirms his attendance at the event but says the Minister of State for Agriculture was present in personal capacity. www.irishtimes.com/politics/202...

It is not “failing,” because the reason it exists is so Meta can say “look at all our efforts to eliminate harassment content.” Their so-called policy exists to insulate them from criticism. They have been doing this for as long as the company has been in existence. It’s chapter 1 in the playbook.

Meta's Attempted Crackdown on AI Glasses Perverts Is Already Failing

Creeps are continuing to film themselves harassing women with Meta smart glasses, racking up millions of views on Instagram.
