These plants could emit as much planet-warming pollution as half of all passenger vehicles in the entire country in a single YEAR. We need a data center moratorium — now.

I think it's a natural human desire to want everyone to start from the same place. But not only is it not how life works; I think the jury is still out on whether it's how *sports* should work
All the Fauci stuff is a modern day version of the POW/MIA stuff after Vietnam - a way to try to rewrite the history of a huge failure of conservative ideology to be instead a story about how liberals and foreigners stabbed us in the back.
NYC has both a very powerful executive and a frankly enormous amount of fiscal capacity relative to any other city or even most state governorships. I think more blue state Dems should think about ways to concentrate power and expand their jurisdictions fiscal capacity!
I think it's good that Mamdani is Just Doing Stuff but more people gotta realize that it is not a matter of Will or motivation or whatever but because the NYC Mayor, as an office, is one of the uniquely powerful individual offices you can hold in the United States (seriously)

While I understand the desire to avoid doing fiddly bullshit to game I really don’t think PC gaming is that fiddly relative to its history. You used to have to do crimes to get music to work properly.
The answer to "why does everything suck now" almost ALWAYS goes back to "venture capital." Which goes back to "a lot of people have too much money and don't know what to do with it." Which goes back to: "We need to tax rich people more." It's like it's the solution to 99% of our problems!!
