Calling this a “rogue agent” is misleading. This software was instructed to do this by a person. It shouldn’t have done as it was told, but it was still told. These tools let more people do more crimes with less skill. They are still tools being used for a task they were built to do.

Why did you transition? Right answers only. After decades of repression and deflection (“it’s just a kink, I’m just weird, it’s just a phase, everyone has these thoughts”) I routinely ran into real trans representation IRL and online and gave me the strength and insight to realize who I really am.

Is it just me or has there been a massive uptick on trans people negging and putting down other trans people on other platforms? To the point where I wonder if it’s actually organic or an astroturfing campaign. To be clear I’m not interacting with the content, well aware of the algo impacts.

always frustrated when people lead with "there are only [x number of] trans kids playing school sports in that whole state!" when talking about bans like... yeah, i'm sure that's true, but these laws aren't JUST about who they narrowly, openly target; they're about terrorizing all trans kids
this shit was always annoying even in cases where it was maybe technically correct, but now with Trump doing lots of unprecedented bad shit the ‘heh, you rube, you fool, politicians have always been corrupt’ gimmick is both wrong on the merits and much more pernicious.

More people need to know about this. Also it’s quite close to PDX, and only a couple hours from Seattle on I5 so this isn’t some completely isolated no place. The douchey leader of it all even talks about governing “unbelievers”.

This. I’ve seen a distressing uptick lately in trans folks being dismissive or even critical of trans experiences that don’t map to their own views and desires. We’re a diverse bunch, even if we share a common and important trait.
