Today's reading includes work by Mihaela Moscaliuc, with whom I was at Yaddo earlier this year. She's an amazing poet, friends: her work gleams with unexpected words and images, holds the sacred and mundane together in original ways, documents life in all its ways.

One of my all-time favorites. Lots of fantastic pieces in this series. But this photo is terrible! One of the reasons the sterility of an art museum doesn't serve everyone. Look at it in context. It's SO COOL.

Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

I have undone reposts/likes in threads bc there’s a substack link at the end or beginning that I didn’t initially see. I will continue to do this.
