I think there’s a few but the biggest to me was Teen Gohan during the Cell Games. A few others that impacted me were Rokusho from metabots, Megaman.exe, Flamedramon/Armor Digivolution in general, and literally every character from DN Angel

As an editor, I agree, because I have a style guide that calls for English titles, and JP titles mean more work. As someone on social media, I really can't care too much? I grew up in a period when "Dear Brother" was universally called "Oniisama e", and Descendants of Darkness was "Yami no Matsuei"

The insistence on sticking with the Japanese title when there is already a perfectly acceptable English one is utterly asinine. Nobody does this in Japanese literature, or film, or any other art form. It's just the anime nerds who insist on being obtuse.
