This is revealing but *not* because @zannymb.economist.com shows Musk up as a raving psychopath. Fine, but hardly news. It's because *she* describes Alice Weidel - the openly racist leader of a far-right party infested with neo-Nazis -as a "perfectly thoughtful person."
At one point she notes that AfD, the German political party that Musk supports, has "real neo-Nazis." Musk literally just shrugs.
Was deutsche Journalisten nicht wollen oder können, kriegt Al Jazeera problemlos hin: die AfD inhaltlich stellen.
As Ed Miliband leaves his post as energy and net-zero secretary, a final tally: There have been an incredible 251 newspaper editorials attacking him and his approach to net-zero since the start of 2024 That amounts to two editorials a week, mainly in the Sun, Daily Mail, Times and Daily Telegraph.
Great presentation on the many overlapping & contradictory meanings and dynamic of ‘crisis communication’ by the one and only @stenhansson.bsky.social at #cadaad2026 - great points about fluidity of crisis meanings underpinning ned for critical & context sensitive work!
Very important points on technocratic and strategically depoliticised recontextualisation of ‘resilience’ in Italian mediated & public discourse by @francozappettini.bsky.social & Monica Colombo at #cadaad2026 @cadaad.bsky.social
Vital points on textual & visual constructions of resilience in public discourse - including as a token of responding to vulnerability - in a a v interesting paper by Michael Kranert & colleagues at #cadaad2026 @cadaad.bsky.social
An absolute banger of an exclusive from the Sunday Times. It's devastating. For the first time, I'm uncertain if Farage can actually survive this www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

I run @alnconnect.bsky.social. We support Neurodivergent Families. Benefit cuts and slashing to ALN / SEND Services has crippled the household budgets already struggling from 14 yrs of Tory rule. If you're disabled or a carer, Poverty has deepened by some degree.

Everybody in the "climate space" (which means everyone on earth...) needs to understand these mind-blowing figures. Google's "total electricity consumption jumped from 31 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2024 to 43 TWh in 2025." In ONE year. The AI corporate arms race is eating the world.
NEW BLOG FOR YOU Google's energy consumption numbers in their new climate report are mind-blowing. 2 years ago they flipped from linear to exponential growth, and their climate impact is blowing out, too. A WILD testament to the obscene bloat and waste of GenAI: ketanjoshi.co/2026/07/01/g...

(Thread)

All that money that is now spent on Data Centers - imagine if it was spent building hospitals, training nurses, and buying medical equipment. How many lives would be saved? Anxiety reduced knowing healthcare is more available. We need a better economic system than we have now.

A please @labouruk.bsky.social, stop saying that it's up to us to stop Reform. YOU could stop a Reform government in 2029, by introducing the proportional representation so many in the country have been clamouring for. The only way Farage can win is through our crazy first-past-the-post system.
How is this cartoon of Zack Polanski, published in the Sun - complete with forked tongue and other Der Stürmer tropes - not blatantly antisemitic?
