Well... here we are, 2 months until the election. Hipkins continues to be the invisible man who has nothing to say and stands for nothing.

Achievement *almost* unlocked this morning: when I got to the car to go to the pool it was 1C! I've still never been outside for freezing temperatures in Wellington in almost a decade of living here. Not that I miss them, but I want to be able to say "I went swimming even though it was freezing" 🤣

Dropped in on a stream from a person I really respect today and not only did he say SO MANY incredibly kind things about me with no prompting, he also used they/them to refer to me the entire time. I'm totally fine with they/he, but to have a colleague SEE ME in both of those ways made me emotional

Broke my 500m PR again, for the third day in a row and the sixth swim in a row. Clearly I've resolved some kind of major blocker to be shedding time this quickly over the course of only two weeks. I know I'm going to hit a plateau soon and be stuck there for a long time, but this feels SO GOOD.

Day of firsts: new 500m swim personal record first time anyone who watches my YouTube met me in person first time seriously playing electric guitar since I moved to NZ(!) This year ain't so bad, on a personal level.
