If you commission a work of art, that doesn't make you an artist. If you pay someone to write a book, that doesn't make you an author. If you ask a person to create a design for you, that doesn't make you a designer. Getting genAI to do something is not the same as YOU DOING THE THING!

I finally made it to my holidays, so naturally I developed a cold to start it off. I seems like a not too bad one but just my luck, I suppose.
Idk man I think a worker owned collective of journalists who aren't afraid to report complicated situations of harm in our industry is really good and I'd like to see it continue and hopefully one day expand. I'd love for said journalists to be able to earn a livable wage while doing it too. 💙

That "men should be allowed, without judgement or consequence, to do an amount of harm to women and girls that I personally deem acceptable" seems to be a genuine opinion still held by too many people in the year two thousand and twenty six is incredibly grim
There seems to be this assumption that being a fan of a thing means you want more stuff related to that thing to be made. And I know it's true for some fans but I don't think it's always true. Some people might just want to enjoy the thing they like in peace.
Gold Ennie winning "Whispers of the Woods" is now available on @rpgtrader.bsky.social. To celebrate this accolade, we offer 100 digital copies for a price of a latte! Please enjoy, buy, and/or share! :)

The appropriation of 'accessibility' to mean making a game more marketable to a wider audience also pisses me off! Accessibility in TTRPGs is already underdeveloped: whether encouraging representation of realistic disablement within story or making resources engaging for differently-abled players.
"I've had this before when I've asked. You can see the kids are sitting around a meal and the mum's sitting there with nothing. I remember one mum, I think a year or so ago, and I offered her some free food, and she started crying."
This has really pissed me off, if you're in the area and can afford it go and give the cafe owner some money to help fund the kids meals. And if he refuses buy yourself a nice coffee and tip him as much as you can. Fuck Reform taking food from kids in need. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Ok, so I had a look at the playtest documents for the new VtM edition (of course I did, I can't help myself) and tbh, I'm not impressed. All the usual caveats about it not being a finished product, but for now - meh.
Seeing new VtM edition news coming out of GenCon I find myself in a position of being interested and yet doubting I'll play it beyond trying it out for general interest. Not because I dislike it (some of the snippets I saw I like, some less so, all is tbd) but because I already have VtM I like.
I've just realised that I once again failed in my attempt to be more active on here more and been more or less absent for weeks. Oops. I'm just bad at social media. How do you...post more regularly?

Hi all, I am looking for articles, posts, podcasts about: - GMless/GMfull games - worldbuilding games - the practice of hacking in TTRPGs/ LARP Note: I am not necessarily interested in specific games, but rather in pieces that talk *about* these kinds of games and practices. Links are appreciated!
A damn good list. I want to add the good work of @jenkatwrites.bsky.social and @ksandrarpg.bsky.social - which I think was not mentioned. Go play all of these!

I talk a lot about the complexity of ocean conservation, and how real solutions can’t fit on a bumper sticker. Enter the Ocean Cleanup. Launched by a teenager giving a TED Talk, they claimed they were going to scoop all the plastic out of the ocean. 🧪🦑🌎
Why The Ocean Cleanup Hasn’t Solved the Plastic Pollution Crisis • The Revelator
Global problems are rarely solved by one person or invention. The Ocean Cleanup didn’t work, for the reasons experts said it wouldn’t. What can we learn from this?

A lot of people are enamoured by the idea of great worldbuilding as a Xeroxed copy of reality whilst great worldbuilding is largely about establishing a foundation, and then iterating on it organically so that social institutions, events, and ecosystems feel strongly interconnected.

this idea that a new local data center means a ton of local jobs and innovation is one of the biggest lies tech corporations and their assorted mouthpieces are telling communities (including tribal) to get them to sign off on their unregulated energy hoovering ambitions
Big Tech Is Now Targeting Native American Land for Massive Data Centers
The data center boom has roiled communities across the country, but on Native land, a Big Tech push for quick approvals has pitted the need for development against a history of exploitation.

Everyone’s enjoying the excommunication drama but there are also lessons for pro-democracy political actors. Decades of accommodating and appeasing this sect did not work and only emboldened them. You have to go whole hog. When you have power, break the back of the reactionaries. Shut them out
OH MY GOD GUYS okay so priests who want back in have to find a bishop willing to vouch for them, swear fealty to Vatican II and then HAND-WRITE THE POPE AN APOLOGY LETTER (I gues so he knows they didn’t use AI? 😂) and are on probation for 1-3 years this is ten times spicier than I even thought
