NEW DRINK ALERT! Today on Bar Cart Bookshelf we're talkin about THE SORCERER OF THE WILDEEPS by Kai Ashante Wilson. This is a science-fantasy sword & sorcery novella of profound poetry & ardent action, as a caravan crosses a deadly magical expanse. A landmark of queer fantasy. Our drink is Demoniac.

It's a lingering question with portal fantasies: what about those left behind? "What Are We If I Stay" by KS Walker is a quiet, thoughtful exploration of this idea, and has an ending that will knock your socks off.
What Are We If I Stay - Small Wonders
It has been three weeks, six days and seven hours since Georgia disappeared through the door.

ANATHEMA opens to submissions this June and you should meet our editorial team! Amina Kayani (she/her) is a queer Muhajir writer from the South. She’s published all over and can't wait to see what stories you send her way! #SFF #queer #bipoc #kickstarter #qtpoc
Devastating. FIYAH was the first home for my short fiction. FIYAH has been more than just a magazine, it's a movement. Unapologetically creating space for Black spec fic, sharing their platform and creating the tools for accountability and transparency in the SFFH short fiction ecosystem.
Difficult post, but past time to rip the band aid off. FIYAH is going on hiatus indefinitely, with issue #40 currently set to be our last for the time being. The mag cannot continue running at a loss, and needs time to reassess operations from top to bottom if a viable path forward is to be created.
I legit feel so lucky to exist in the same timeline as this film, this performance.
