Progressive theater groups have been at the heart of Indian protest movements since the founding of IPTA (Indian Progressive Theatre Association) in 1943. It’s no wonder that Neha Bora, one of the most effective and charismatic protesters in the current movement, is a part of that tradition.

As a practical matter, though my hopes here are dim, no network should carry this, no online streaming service should host it, and everyone should discourage their friends, coworkers, and acquaintances from watching, if it should come up.

Martin was on his way to buy diapers for his children when he was apprehended by ICE. Since that day, his wife Gaby has fought tirelessly to bring him home. And we’ve stood by her every step of the way. Tonight, Martin is finally coming home to his wife and children — right where he belongs.

Normalization is treating the president stealing from taxpayers to buy campaign ads and offer bribes to voters like it's just another day. Normalization is reacting with "won't work" or "polls poorly," and not "resign immediately or you'll be removed, we exist because of a revolution against that."

I hate doing this, and I don't want to spam people, but I do genuinely write a lot, about many different topics; I like to think it's generally interesting and informative, and it's all free to read, and I DO pay for a WordPress account, so if you want that to continue, maybe consider supporting me?

This is slightly out of my normal lane, and I could charge six (hell maybe seven) figure to deliver this message as a consultant, but I’m gonna do it for free. Because I’m ✨enraged✨ People in the think tank/policy/inside the beltway DC world have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE how mad people are abt Cornell. 🧵

From the latest @yaleclimatecomm.bsky.social survey: "The percentage of registered voters who say they hear about global warming in the media dropped 11 percentage points from 2024 (30%) to 2025 (19%), which is the lowest it has been since the question was first asked in 2015." This is on you media!

and a lot of people will be gleeful at your suffering while simultaneously saying that you are lying because they deeply believe society should be structured in a way that makes you a tool, an object, a machine, to be used and abused, maybe sometimes maintained like someone maintains their property.

I find it strange and unsettling how the default position is that men are entitled to public-facing, high profile careers regardless of the literal crimes they have committed. Always strange how “they’ve repented,” turns into “they are owed a high public profile.”

Campus rape is really widespread; statistics suggest a significant percent of women who go to college will be raped there; feminism opened up a good conversation about it around 2012-13; it's weird when people treated Cornell like an isolated rather than dramatic example of a pervasive problem.

Once again, I gotta say: you cannot treat anything you’re feeding into an AI as anonymous. There are enormous ethics implications for, e.g. referees who are clearly uploading others’ unpublished papers without consent, let alone health care professionals or law enforcement

Four days ago, a scientist was surprised by the news that Anthropic discovered new virus genes for making DNA. He says he’s been studying them for years—and feeding his data to Anthropic’s AI as part of his own research. Coincidence? Here’s my story. nyti.ms/3VSWayc
