If you see this, quote it with a song lyric you love Right and wrong don't matter in the woods Only feelings Let us meet the moment unblushed Life is often so unpleasant-- You must know that, as a peasant-- Best to take a moment present As a present for the moment

If you see this, quote it with a song lyric you love (if you feel like it) I was a lonely teenage broncing buck With a pink carnation and a pickup truck I knew I was out of luck the day the music died.

I had to code and pronounce a time of death on a respiratory therapist colleague. There's a memorial plaque for her outside the emergency department to this day. I wrote and re-wrote my will. I will never forgive these ghouls trying to rewrite history and deny our experience.

RFK Jr said these words today on national television "There were ICUs that were empty all over the country including in New York at the height (of the pandemic)" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You are a fucking idiot hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha <sobs silently>

Anyway, your problem isn‘t finding the time to take notes. The problem is that taking notes is thinking and thinking has to be done by someone. women have been doing a lot of metacognition that looks like a task when it’s really thinking.

Watching the Lilith Fair documentary right after one of the Woodstock 99 documentaries really brings it home that there were two competing ideologies at the end of the 20th century. Heartbreaking which one seems to be winning the 21st so far.

It’s nice to see everyone’s textual analysis of The Odyssey It’s almost like the humanities give you entertainment, feelings, pleasure, and fun/interesting stuff to talk about, as well as lenses into both past and current society

Megan's calling it like it is: These are regressive, oppressive attacks on women and girls.

This shit with Taylor Farms is exactly what I’m talking about when I say you may say you “don’t do politics,“ but politics are more than happy to do you. The microbes political bribes got out the door and into your intestines don’t particularly care that you find it all beneath you.

AGAIN: the #1 predictor of a mass shooter is violence against women. Cops perpetrate VAW at higher % (though exact # unknown ofc) than the gen population. At some point our culture must take seriously the fact that this is a real red flag. It requires hating women less, though.

Wow. The ICE shooter in Maine asked his ex-wife to "to lie for him and to cover for his character." She said he was abusive and had previously reported concerns about him to his military superiors. He was also a volunteer firefighter, but was removed after several spats with department leadership.

honestly if you have a teenager in your life and you're tempted to make jokes about how they're a teenager, maybe instead tell them they're doin okay and you love them and you wanna see whatever thing they're working on. stop making fun. they're near universally not at a place where it feels funny

The hardest working journalist in RI with another banger. I was there, so know how sad it was for Cumberland to move ahead with a wholly unnecessary and detrimental policy. The Supreme Court let stand the school policy in MA protecting trans students. Cumberland has some explaining to do.

Cumberland advances policy mandating school personnel out transgender students to parents The policy also allows parents to enforce their choice of name and pronouns on school personnel when addressing their child, essentially mandated misgendering. steveahlquist.substack.com/p/cumberland...
