Safari and Firefox introduced new CSS pseudo-classes for media elements. They allow you to style video players without using JavaScript. You can now change how a player looks based on its playback state. This makes custom media players faster and lighter. 1/3 #CSS #WebDev #Frontend

Educational graphic titled "New media CSS pseudo classes" on a forest background. It lists 7 new CSS pseudo-classes: :playing, :paused, :seeking, :buffering, :stalled, :muted, and :volume-controls. Below the list, a code snippet shows how to display a loading spinner using the :buffering state in CSS. The bottom of the image features Lionel Péramo’s name and profile photo.

That's something I can't really stand. EU's digital wallet won't run on the most secure phone on earth (GrapheneOS) but it happily run on legacy (and vulnerable) android devices. Italy's e-gov app "IO" as well. Why? They require a deep integration with.. Google play integrity api.. 😑 @ec.europa.eu

I have actually interacted with some of the people involved. One of their arguments is the low adoption of alternatives. So yeah lets make sure no alternative can emerge... There is also tension between what lawyer understand as secure, since it is easy to outsource responsibility to big corps.

Critics are protesting the proposed use of Google Play Integrity and Apple App Attestation for age verification in an EU project. They argue this creates dangerous dependency on US tech giants, violates user privacy, and risks locking down hardware, undermining digital sovereignty.

Today feels like celebrating a twenty-year wedding anniversary, five years after a catastrophic divorce ended the relationship. For me, the relationship started well before the ceremony, and the fault lines of the relationship were visible soon after the honeymoon ended. bsky.app/profile/newp...

so i played “hades” for the first time recently (10/10 game, one of the best) and saw a lot of similarities between two of the characters and jinmalos, and i’ve been breaking out of my recent art block, soooo here’s malos and jin as zagreus and thanatos respectively

malos as zagreus from “hades,” standing like zagreus does in text boxes. he is wearing a tunic that exposes half of his chest and his core; a skull belt; two arm bands on each arm; and a olive laurel. he has one leg partially raised, as if he is ready to start moving at any moment. there are three larger skulls sitting on his left shoulder; from left to right, they resemble the heads of his gargoyle, his blade sever, and ophion. the background is three overlapping ovals, with the purple coloring darkening as they intersectjin as thanatos from “hades,” standing like thanatos does in text boxes. he is wearing a hooded one-shoulder tunic/cloak; a neck brace of sorts (similar to ones worn in ancient egypt); three wings on his right shoulder; and a draped cloak hanging from his arms. he wields a scythe that is behind him and held in his right arm, and jin’s canonical xb2 blade is at his left side. the background is the same as malos’ but inverted.

New, by me: The Justice Department is prosecuting an American for allegedly providing U.S. border agents with a "duress" passcode that wiped the contents of his phone when they entered it. We've confirmed the phone was running GrapheneOS. Bypass for ad-blockers: web.archive.org/web/20260724...
