Once a library school grad, always a sarcastic individual with too many books and not enough shelves. Definitely not making Mt. Holyoke, Stony Brook, or Pratt proud. Cite your sources and tip your server.

A new study shows that among people hospitalized with COVID19, other viruses such as EBV, HSV1, and CMV may be reactivated. This effect isn’t limited to those who are immunocompromised, either. So if you’re wondering why I’m still masking indoors in public, have a read.

COVID can wake up a slew of dormant viruses inside you

Reactivation of typically harmless anelloviruses, in particular, seems to be linked with developing long COVID, study finds.

“How many times have you had Covid?” Should be a standard screener question for jobs with high cognitive loads & interpersonal relationships. Also before you start arguing w a mf on thw interwebz 😭 You could be dating/electing/arguing w someone who’s cognitive functioning is severely impaired.

No fr. And additional infections cause compounding negative effects so then folks who have gotten it 3, 4, & 5+ times could be *really* damaged cognitively

They will not let this horrid abomination die! Time for another round of "Call your Senator even if they aren't listening." Especially given some that usually don't suck and do listen are still supporting this bullshit.

While the SCREEN Act failed in the committee, KOSA did move forward. Contact your senators immediately demanding it be opposed, and keep the pressure up until it comes to a vote in the Senate

Follow up: Uncommitted voters did not cost Biden anything and did not cause Harris to lose. They made a stance during a primary Biden was guaranteed to win anyway. Racist Trump voters cost Democrats the election and no one could have fixed that unless they had a genie to make Harris a white man.

NO! “The Arabs” didn’t cost the Democrats the 2024 election! Fuck you for falling for propaganda A small handful of people saying “well I’m going to vote for trump” isn’t the action of a million people

1. Now-deleted audio shows that Acting AG Todd Blanche privately told faith leaders the DOJ is working to make the 2022 Dobbs decision, which revoked federal abortion protections, “permanent in every single state.” Blanche also suggested a crackdown on the mailing of abortion pills.🧵

The full brief is remarkable. While the U.S. Attorney attempts to downplay the misconduct, he admits to discussing the incident with Main Justice as early as Sept. 27 and having the Oct. 9 grand jury transcript as early Oct. 14. The brief shows that the office repeatedly misled the Court.

New overnight: Chicago U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros’ office says the “Broadview Six” prosecutors have self-reported the events of the tainted prosecution to the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility as it argues against a special counsel. Full filing: cst.brightspotcdn.com/98/58/82c837...

Hey guys, Perez Hilton performed self-harm and may have attempted a suicide on TikTok and screenshots are flying around, so if you are sensitive, go put "Perez Hilton" in your mutes right now.

First time I heard this vial meme quote today (and there’s no consensus on its original author) but it perfectly sums up a lot of concern with AI: “The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.”

Stop the false equivalence. No other President sued his own government to secure immunity for himself and his family, created a fund to reward cop beaters, and demanded prosecution of his political enemies. Trump’s weaponization of DOJ is unprecedented and you just endorsed it.

Tillis admits Trump is weaponizing the DOJ during his speech announcing he'll vote for Todd Blanche: "Maybe it's a little bit more intense in this administration than the last one ... I'm going to support Mr Blanche's nomination"

Whitehouse: "Next we get to this crooked slush fund Trump family tax amnesty scam. We've got these two new pieces of paper. One signed only by Blanche, one not signed by anybody. Neither of which has any legal effect whatsoever. They are decorative. Can you trust Todd Blanche? I do not."

Whitehouse: "Today I think is a sad and embarrassing day for this committee as it looks like on a party-line vote we are going to advance out of this committee probably the most discreditable person ever to seek the office of attorney general. Let's start with the Epstein files ... "

In the USA, racists and nazis can still bully most (non-Black) people, simply by suggesting that they are in a "liberal bubble" or are "wild progressives," or hinting that they care about other people. Rather than have the confidence to say, "Those opinions are in bad faith," they fold.🤷🏿‍♂️

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
