A few weeks ago, I snagged 5 sets of shelves on freegle, and (because me) decided they could be better. So I cut two in half, cut and moved the side supports, drilled new holes for shelf pins, then screwed them together into two solid units! I am so happy with how they've turned out!

A corner shelving unit, made up of three tall tower shelves and one half sized tower shelf (to the left of the tall ones. The short shelf has two beige polka dot dröna boxes in it, a shallow shelf filled with tote bags, and some little tchotchkes on top. The adjacent tall unit has a beige utsådd cat box on the bottom shelf, with three beige drönas above, and box files in the top compartment. The remaining two tall units form one double deep tower. The bottom compartment is half the height of the entire unit and contains blocking mats, picture frames and airing racks. The three compartments above contain a sewing machine, sewing box, button tin, irons, rolls of brown paper and lever arch folders. Vacuum bags of bedding, cosplay, etc are stacked on top of the tall shelves. Tucked between the unit and the wall on the right hand side are a heated airer and an ironing board.A storage unit made of three half-sized tower shelves, approx 90cm tall. The three bottom shelves contain beige dröna boxes. The other compartments have a few random bits in them; I'm organising them tomorrow! On top of the unit are a big shot die-cutting machine and a black printer. Above the unit on the wall, you can just see shelves containing some of my action figures: Farscape, Babylon 5 and Star Wars. In front of the unit, is the corner of my chaise longue, with a plush grey blanket and a pink fluffy cat igloo, belonging to the little madam who incorrectly believes this is her bedroom. It's my craft room. And the guest room. FINE IT'S HER BEDROOM :eyeroll:

This is an excellent approach for all teaching. Expect students to make mistakes to develop. Sometimes ruined by continuous assessment of results.

Every so often I teach someone how to spin yarn on a spindle. And I always tell them that the first yarn you make will not be good yarn, and it's not meant to be, because right now you are not making wool into yarn, you're making yourself into a spinner.
